Black and White Happy Birthday

This black and white birthday card (for my favorite police officer) was simple to put together and looks pretty elegant, if I do say so myself!

One stamp, two colors of card stock and a little ribbon go a long way to set on to of this lovely polka dot-embossed base.
I stamped the sentiment and then cut out just the inside using the Mini Treat Bags Thinlit that matches this shape. I set it on a strip of Whisper White card stock that was also stamped with the same stamp, but I popped it up on Stampin'  Dimensionals to make it look extra special.

Thanks for looking today and I hope you have a great day! Won't you use my Online Store when you are ready to purchase your own Stampin' Up! supplies? Thank you!

Graduation Pinkness

My oldest niece is graduation from high school today! Way to go! I made this card for her and it was inspired by the gift below. I used one of my favorite stamp sets from last year--"Tin of Cards." It's a real keeper and I use it often.

Gold Embossing Powder and Gold Foil Doilies lend a classy element to the bright Melon Mambo card stock. I added some Metallic Sequins and embossed hearts for good measure.

And here is the gift that inspired all those gold elements. The Kate Spade pencil bag will hold this lovely dotted Mini Treat Bag. I used the retired Fancy Gold Vellum to layer over the Melon Mambo. It really mutes the color a lot. More gold with the Bow Clip and Embossed tag from "You're So Sweet." The money and holder were placed inside the dotted bag and then put into the gift bag below. I love the layers and layers that make a gift seem all the more special.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my special card and gift. If you need Stampin' Up! supplies to make your creations, just use my Online Store. I'd love to be your demonstrator.

Sneak Peek Hearth and Home Framelits

Happy Monday! I spent some time this weekend using some new items from the Holiday Catalog, which goes live on September 1st. Featured today is the new Home for the Holidays Framelits, which helps you create a window and a window box. I didn't use the window box, as my scene is from INSIDE the window. There is a bundle using the framelits with a stamp set called Happy Scenes and if you buy them together, you save 15%. I didn't use that set, I chose instead to use another stamp set called Wonderland. The trees and pine branches are from that set. My sentiment is from You're So Sweet.

Hearth and Home Framelits 139666 $20

Happy Scenes photopolymer 130821 $21
Or bundle the two and save 15% 140853 $34.75

My window is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3-D effect.
Those Mossy Meadow dots are the new Home For Christmas Enamel Dots which are also from the Holiday Catalog.

Very Vanilla Thick Twine is available September 1, 2015 in the Holiday Catalog.
If you are wondering how I colored in my window scene, here is what I did. Using Mossy Meadow ink and the pines image from Wonderland,  I stamped onto Whisper White card stock. Some of the trees are "stamped off," a technique where you ink the stamp and then stamp onto a scrap piece of paper before stamping your card stock. Next, I used Sponge Daubers with Soft Sky and Soft Suede inks to make my ground and sky. I kept lightly daubing until I had the color I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are encouraged to make your own cards! Won't you leave me a comment? :-)

Red, White and Blue

This is a gift card holder suitable for a birthday near our celebration of Independence Day. I turned the stamp from You're So Sweet so my "hello" would be more vertical than horizontal. Isn't that clever? Well, not really because I really didn't notice which way it was displayed in the catalog :-)

Inside the image, I placed a Tempting Turquoise Medium Star (created with the Medium Star Punch) and then threw a line of Rhinestones across the middle for interest. My square is rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder.  A bit of Tempting Turquoise Baker's Twine holds the tag onto the Silver 1/8" ribbon. (Twine leftover from a Paper Pumpkin from long ago).

My bag is made from Glassine Paper and the Mini Treat Bag Framelits and Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added a piece of Real Red card stock, whose upper edge was cut using the Mini Treat Bag Framelits also.

Thank you for visiting today. Don't forget to leave a short comment--I really appreciate each one of them.

You're So Sweet--Enjoy a Treat!

The Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder was my MUST HAVE from the new Annual Catalog. I couldn't wait to use it. Here I used it so that the mortar looks like it's oozing sloppily from the bricks. Most other people have used it the opposite way, having the bricks looked like they are neatly mortared. I like it either way! The great thing about this embossing folder is it is 6" x 6" instead of the normal
4-1/2" x 6-3/16" as most of the folders are. This means you can emboss more surface area for a wider variety of projects.

My sentiment from You're So Sweet is stamped onto Whisper White using Delightful Dijon ink. Then I stamped the framed sentiment "just for you" in Mossy Meadow onto Whisper White. I cut out just the frame using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Dies and it made an excellent frame for my sentiment. I popped the frame up on some Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a black designer button tied with Linen Thread and slipped a length of the new Striped Cotton Ribbon behind it. It's Mossy Meadow. I think this will make an excellent birthday card. There will be a stamped birthday cake of some sort on the inside when I'm ready to send it off.

Sweet Treat For You

Hello Sweet Blog Friends! I am LOVING one of my new stamp sets "You're So Sweet." The set has stamps that coordinate with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die and is sold as a bundle saving you 15% when you purchase both items. What could be better than that sweet, calorie-free treat!?

I embossed the image onto a print from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack using VersaMark and Black Embossing Powder. My treat bag is embellished with Crumb Cake Stitched Satin Ribbon and an Antique Brad that I make sparkle with a single Basic Rhinestone.

The package is smart and great as a masculine or feminine gift for any treat-giving occasion. I slipped a fun pack of chocolate candies inside, but the bag is big enough for a gift card or other small surprise.

Thanks for coming by today! I hope you will leave me a comment--I thrive on them!
