Stampin' Success CASE of First Frost

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that  we receive a magazine quarterly called "Stampin' Success." Inside the magazine are LOTS of ideas on how to use products, ways to improve techniques and a lot of encouragement for our love of paper crafting! Above I replicated one of the cards in the latest issue.

Half Full Hospitality

Next month I will be traveling to the California wine country and I plan on leaving some cards along the way to thank winemakers for their hospitality. I love that the Half Full stamp set has plenty of options for sentiments, wine glasses of different sizes and also a Christmas greeting and holly. It's good year round!

I CASED this card from the catalog, but I used my own designer series paper and I used Rich Razzleberry for my card base instead of the new Merry Merlot.

The hardest part of this card was waiting for the White Craft Ink to dry! I used my Stampa-Ma-Jig to line up those wine glasses perfectly (six glasses per stamp) and so I needed to wait of each one to dry so I could lay down the sheet for placement. I cut out my chalkboard tag using the Scallop Tag Topper punch before stamping and embossing it (again using the Stampa-Ma-Jig) for perfect placement.

Thanks for looking today! I'd love you to Shop with me any time.

Cake Soiree Ruffled Birthday Card

Today's card was inspired by someone coloring the gingham ribbon with a Stampin' Blend mark. Here I used the Light Calypso Coral. It matches the ink I stamped the sentiment in. The stamp is from the Cake Soiree stamp set. The cake us fussy cut from a sheet of Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love that I didn't need to do anything fancy to the cake, but...

...I did add some pearls anyway! I added my banner with cake and sentiment to the piece of Ruffled card stock and here you have a wonderful card that sends wishes to anyone for their special day.

Thank you for looking today! Won't you leave me a comment?

Mother's Day Monochromatic for April Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April 2016.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I chose Mother's Day for my theme. I wanted to give a nod to one of the soon-retiring 2014-15 In Colors--Tangelo Twist.
I made my Mother's Day card using just that color, so monochromatic. My neutral coordinating card stock color is Very Vanilla, because I think it looks better than Whisper White with the very bright Tangelo Twist.

So then, the perfect accents for my colors are 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon in Tangelo Twist, the Very Vintage Designer Button, Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine and Venetian Crochet Trim.  My sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The background "splash" stamp and the banner stamp is from Timeless Textures, which I have heard will be carrying over in the new Annual Catalog in just a few months!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

From the Heart Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are showcasing projects using Stampin’ Up! products featuring a theme from any of the following: Valentine’s Day; Thinking of You; Get Well; or Sympathy. All of these themes come “From the Heart.”  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
First try with "From the Heart Theme"

This is the first card I created with a little different theme than suggested. I still have "hearts" but they relate to a wedding anniversary. I have friends who have a February 14th wedding anniversary! They deserve a special card! In my descriptions, you will see our newest products in italics.

Helpful Tips:
  • I changed up my Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper by using my Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker to color in the hearts and dots on the paper.
  • I turned the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper over to the back side to trim and punch it. It's much easier to get the cut perfect.
  • The heart image from Bloomin' Love was stamped onto Cherry Cobbler card stock using VersaMark. I heat embossed it using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and hand snipped the heart.
  • The banner stamp that says 'anniversary' is from Number of Years stamp set. That means if you own Bloomin' Love and Number of Years stamp sets, you will have TWO banners you can cut out using the Large Number Framelits!

My favorite of the two. Which one do YOU like?

I couldn't stop with one card. This card varies in color, but also in the elements' placement on the card. My background is simpler, but made special with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I actually like this card better, but the photo shows the other one better, I think. What do you think? Won't you leave me a comment?

All About the Embellishments for PPA269

This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is the sketch above. It was fun to come up with a design using that image as a starting point. That's what it's all about when you are playing along! Make your card, photograph it and post it to your blog or any online gallery. Upload the link to the PPA site and you may be picked this week!

My card base is Thick White card stock and the matt is from the Neutrals Designer Paper Stack. I used half of a Tea Lace Doily and layered on half of a Spider Web Doily over that. I edged them with Silver Sequin Trim and accented with Basic Rhinestones. My corners are 7/8" Scallops from Whisper White, a Black Neutrals Designer Button and an Iced Rhinestone.  My sentiment is from Sheltering Tree and the script matches the background paper. I used Melon Mambo for some pop.

What do you think? Won't you please leave your comment below?

Tomorrow is the LAST CHANCE to join one of my paper shares! Here are the details. I still have spots open! Thank you!

Hello Autumn--I'm Still Waiting!

Here on the West Coast, we are still in summer mode. Yes, leaves are falling, but the temperatures are NOT! At least we got some rain recently, which is very unusual for September. Last night my favorite stamping buddies joined me for a workshop and this is one of the cards we made.

Here is a closeup of the card element. My 2" banner was cut using the Banner Triple Punch, as well as the Corrugated Paper banner (1") underneath it. On the side, I stamped the large acorn image from Cheer All Year in Early Espresso onto the Kraft Card Stock. I used paper snips to cut it out and popped it on dimensionals over the Tangelo Twist Striped Cotton Ribbon. The ribbon was tied using Old Olive Baker's Twine. My card base is Crumb Cake.

I hope you enjoyed looking today! Make sure to leave me a comment. I always love to read those.

Sneak Peek Hearth and Home Framelits

Happy Monday! I spent some time this weekend using some new items from the Holiday Catalog, which goes live on September 1st. Featured today is the new Home for the Holidays Framelits, which helps you create a window and a window box. I didn't use the window box, as my scene is from INSIDE the window. There is a bundle using the framelits with a stamp set called Happy Scenes and if you buy them together, you save 15%. I didn't use that set, I chose instead to use another stamp set called Wonderland. The trees and pine branches are from that set. My sentiment is from You're So Sweet.

Hearth and Home Framelits 139666 $20

Happy Scenes photopolymer 130821 $21
Or bundle the two and save 15% 140853 $34.75

My window is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3-D effect.
Those Mossy Meadow dots are the new Home For Christmas Enamel Dots which are also from the Holiday Catalog.

Very Vanilla Thick Twine is available September 1, 2015 in the Holiday Catalog.
If you are wondering how I colored in my window scene, here is what I did. Using Mossy Meadow ink and the pines image from Wonderland,  I stamped onto Whisper White card stock. Some of the trees are "stamped off," a technique where you ink the stamp and then stamp onto a scrap piece of paper before stamping your card stock. Next, I used Sponge Daubers with Soft Sky and Soft Suede inks to make my ground and sky. I kept lightly daubing until I had the color I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are encouraged to make your own cards! Won't you leave me a comment? :-)

Too Cool 4 School

I made two of these cards to carry gift cards to my niece and nephew as they begin a new school year. They are 17 and 20, so in high school and college. I loved playing with the new stamp set Cheer All Year, which is where I got the feathers. The feathers are fussy cut using Paper Snips. I added some a piece of folded Mossy Meadow Striped Cotton Ribbon and a bow of Very Vanilla Thick Twine to anchor my flag. (Cherr All Year and Very Vanilla Thick Twine will be available September 1st in the Holiday Catalog).

On my flag, I wrote: "You're Too Cool 4 School" using Basic Black and Delightful Dijon ink and the Alphabet Rotary stamp. The Whisper White flag is just about 7/8" wide and I centered it into the smallest "ditch" in the Banner Triple punch. My background is from Chocolate Chip card stock that I embossed using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I hardly ever use Chocolate Chip anymore, so I really had to look around for some!
