Saying goodbye to a member of your team is not ever easy! But making a scrap book so everyone can participate in sending her off with our memories and encouragement makes it a little easier on us all.

I started with a full sheet Soft Sea Foam card stock. I used Basic Gray Ink to decorate it with the flowers from Color Me Happy. 

The sentiment at the top is the large "thank you" from Color Me Happy, which I stamped in Night of Navy ink, then colored with Soft Sea Foam and Navy Stampin' Write Markers. I cut it out using the Layering Ovals Framelits and then framed it with a Night of Navy scalloped oval.

I cut a piece of vellum large enough for my message and used a piece of notebook paper under the vellum so my lines would stay straight as I wrote out my message.

To attach the vellum to the card stock, I took a long strip of a White Velvet Sheet and then trimmed it using one of the dies from Be Mine Stitched Framelits. I used the same die to scallop the bottom of the vellum. I decorated the strip with two cut-out flowers and added a sequin to each one.

Wise Men From Afar Card #2

CASED from Lynda Emerson

This card is actually my favorite of the two cards I made using the retired set Wise Men From Afar. It took a little longer to make, but once I set up the mask for the oval, I made two in a snap!

The background is Night of Navy sponged on with a Sponge Dauber and then I just used the full strength ink to stamp the three wise men and the sentiment. That star is stamped using Crushed Curry ink, which when combined with the Night of Navy background, kind of looks sparkly in and of itself, but I added a little Clear Wink of Stella just to make sure it sparkled!

Statement of My Heart

Today's card was made in multiples to thank customers (who have become friends) for stamping with me, supporting me and loving the same creative process that I do. So, this Statement of My Heart stamp is just that, a true sentiment of what I feel when I get to share what I love with others.

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is that they have quality papers and inks that coordinate and I don't have to think about what goes together with what! This is so freeing and helps me be creative by using my time and resources wisely. It has helped me show others that same success when the creative process is not long-suffering, but easily accessed with coordination. Stampin' Up! does all the "work" of putting their products into suites so we can take off from there.

Simple Sympathy Card

When it comes to Sympathy Cards, simple is always a good thing. It makes it easy to have some of these on hand, as well. I know it's not fun to plan to use these cards, but they do need to be used sometimes. The card above has shimmer in the paper as well as sparkle in the ribbon.

Here you can see the shimmer on the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. The rest of my card is more subtle, with Crumb Cake being the accent.

Happy Belated Birthday Gorgeous

Time to replenish my belated birthday supply. Yes, I am late sometimes!

This card would be nice for any special occasion if you don't use the same stamp set. Imagine a Congratulations card or just "I'm Thinking of You" for the sentiment. Stamp that beautiful flower and stem and cut out in any shape you like.

Adding that gorgeous pearl makes the card more special and gives a finishing touch that is sure to make someone feel special, even if you are late with your card!

Maritime Child's Birthday Card

With pre-0rdering available for the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog beginning, I am trying to decide which retiring items to keep and which to let go of. Several years ago, I chose to keep an unopened pack of Maritime Designer Series Paper. It was too cute and my granddaughter was about a year old. Now I have three grandkids and this paper will come in handy for sending them all kinds of greetings.

Letting go big time, I used almost an entire sheet of the paper to make an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board. I made the card slightly larger than my standard A2 card, so those little hands could open it easier. I love the color scheme of this paper, using Real Red, Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana.

If you didn't know, that print on the right side of the card is one I made myself using the You Are My Anchor stamp set from the April Paper Pumpkin kit. I used Mint Macaron ink since I don't have the returning Coastal Cabana ink just yet. I'm so happy that these two colors are coming back!

I also decided that I cannot let go of my Number of Years stamp set or the Large Numbers Framelits that are both retiring. Kids love to see their numbers on their cards, so they will be coming in handy often. You will see another number card on tomorrow's post, so please come back!

Picture Perfect 1st Birthday

Today's card is so festive and colorful! Perfect for any age, so you could substitute the "1" that was cut from Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper using the Large Numbers Framelits. The sentiment is from Number of Years stamp set. 

Those CUTE and colorful party favors are stamped and fussy cut. The stamp set is the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. I love how you can create many different versions of the party blowers.

My card today was made as an alternate Paper Pumpkin card. The layout is exactly as the instructions indicate, however I used a different stamp set that wasn't a part of the monthly box.  This kit is from August 2017 and was called Giftable Greetings. There were 8 note cards and envelopes and the white oval in the center had pre-printed large words on it. Instead of using the printed side, I simply turned the oval over and used my Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set to stamp the sentiment I wanted. In a flash I had 8 sympathy cards on hand.

Today's card was CASEd from Roseanne Mulhern. I LOVE this layout. I'm not sure how she made hers, so I had to just make up my own way.

I used a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper to place my elements. I cut off the top 1-1/4", then cut the larger, bottom piece using the scallop piece from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I turned the middle piece around, so it contrasts with the rest of the piece. Any of the straight edges can be trimmed to make the cut pieces fit onto the card nicely. 

Then the element which has the sentiment from Paisleys and Posies was cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits. My colors are Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso. Aren't those tiny little acorns cute? They were fussy cut by hand and then popped up with dimensionals. I used a glue dot to adhere the Linen Thread bow.

Half Full Wishes

"May Your Glass Always Be Half Full" is the way I tend to look at things. This sentiment is a toast, a wish and a greeting you can use for many different occasions. I love the colors on this card: Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry paired with Very Vanilla. The ink is Basic Black and Basic Gray.

 

I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker to color the wine in the glass and make the wine "pour " from the bottle. Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker colored the foil on the bottle. Next I layered on Clear Wink of Stella and lastly I added a layer of clear with my Fine Tip Glue Pen. The bottle is colored using Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker.

You Are Stronger Than You Think

For today's card, I used the Annual Catalog to CASE the oval element on the card. I love having the catalog because it is endless inspiration. If you don't have all the supplies to make a card, just improvise or change it to create the card you need.

Wedding Wishes for a Special Couple

When I first married 37 years ago, we went to a lot of weddings! Now I am in the season of attending weddings of my kids' friends and my friends' kids! It's awesome to have weddings at least a couple of times per year again.

I used Craft White ink on the Brick Wall TIEF and ran it through the Big Shot with Soft Sky card stock. I let it dry while I was creating the Stitched Shapes Framelit with my sentiment. I added some stamped and fussy cut flowers and leaves and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to lift it off the wall.  Lastly, I added an easy-to-tie bow using Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon. I say 'easy' because this ribbon is so soft and pliable that it IS easy to tie into a bow or knot! I love it and will be acquiring more colors ASAP!

I see lots of water color options for this stamp set! It will be so versatile with two images and many sentiments. Paired with the Stitched Shapes and Layering Oval Framelits, you can always jazz up your colored image.  And those sweet clouds? Those are simply cut from the Umbrella Weather Framelits. I added some Wink of Stella on those clouds to make them sparkle like the Shimmery White card stock I stamped on.

Flourishing Sympathy

I CASED this beautiful card from Shannon Jaramillo. It looks so classy and is a very substantial card, my base being the extra thick Whisper White card stock. I used a print Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My favorite little accent is the Burlap Ribbon behind the Layering Ovals sentiment. Also, that large flourish from Flourish Thinlits pretty much make the card in one smooth move. Thank you, Shannon, for the inspiration!

Better Together Wedding Card

Yesterday we had the privilege of attending a wedding for the daughter of good friends. Having watched her from birth all the way through to her special day is heart-warming!

I used Shimmery White card stock so I could water color those adorable little roses from the Better Together stamp set. I cut them out using my paper snips and adhered them to my Copper embossed sentiment. The middle rose is popped up with Dimensionals.

I like to match my card to the gift wrap, so here I used a clear, flat bag and punched a couple of holes in it to attach it to the gift using Whisper White Satin Ribbon.
