Wise Men From Afar Card #2

CASED from Lynda Emerson

This card is actually my favorite of the two cards I made using the retired set Wise Men From Afar. It took a little longer to make, but once I set up the mask for the oval, I made two in a snap!

The background is Night of Navy sponged on with a Sponge Dauber and then I just used the full strength ink to stamp the three wise men and the sentiment. That star is stamped using Crushed Curry ink, which when combined with the Night of Navy background, kind of looks sparkly in and of itself, but I added a little Clear Wink of Stella just to make sure it sparkled!

I hope you enjoyed looking today! Be sure and subscribe to my blog so you don't miss a post.

Wise Men From Afar Card #1

When I get to the last dozen cards or so, I get tired of making the same old thing! So I pulled out this retired set and went to Pinterest to get some ideas. Here is one that was inspired by Stampin' Kat. I loved making the background and then embossing and popping up those wise men.

Here you can see the copper embossing powder that I used to heat emboss. Underneath I used the Layering Ovals die cuts and the Joyous Noel glimmer paper.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying making lots of things from paper for Christmas. Come back tomorrow to see my second card using this retired set.
