Negative Space Card Creation

I am awaiting my August Paper Pumpkin kit. While I wait, I used this negative from last month's kit to create a sympathy card. I love the way the Old Olive looks when placed over black--very bold! Those stem cut outs somehow seem calm and comforting to me.

Then, all I needed was a little ribbon, and a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases. Inside the card continues using the rest of the sentiment, "...Praying that your heart will be lifted by the many loving thoughts that surround you today." I stamped this using Versamark ink and then embossed it using Black embossing powder.

Thanks for looking today! Don't forget to take advantage of the last two weeks of this special...

Flourishing Thank You

Using up more of my retiring products to make way for the new items coming soon! Here I used some leftover retired Christmas Designer Series paper  and retired Black Crochet Trim. Thankfully the stamp set Flourishing Phrases is NOT retiring. It's one of my most-used sets with all of it's wonderful sentiments, flowers and leaves. And that font! Lovely.

Sending Comfort with Beautiful Ribbon and Flourishing Phrases

I love this card. It's very elegant and I'm sure it will bring comfort and healing to a hurting family I know. I noticed this card on page 94 of the Annual Catalog and I had everything to make one like it. I used a different sentiment and a different ribbon.

The ribbon I used was the Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon. It ties like a dream and it lays perfectly flat. I'm sure you can mail this card without a problem.

Thanks for looking today! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Flourishing Anniversary & Gift Tag

New In Color Tranquil Tide pairs perfectly with the retired Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper

A couple I know were about to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. HE surprised HER with two nights at a local resort. On the second night, he took her to their church chapel on the way to "dinner" to light a candle and pray for their marriage. When they opened the chapel doors, there stood one of their pastors, and he greeted HER and said, "Welcome to your renewal of vows." SHE was surprised and they recommitted themselves to their marriage vows in a beautiful and touching ceremony, which my husband and I were so touched by. Of course, I had to make a card to celebrate the occasion.

Remember yesterday's card with that cute and lacey-looking butterfly? This is where I got the butterfly from! I don't like to throw away scraps, so I used an inspiration out of the Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Annual Catalog to create the tag on the clear box from yesterday.

Even though I knew we were giving the couple a bottle of wine to celebrate, I completely forgot about decorating the bottle! The bag is a retired Stampin' Up! item and I used the Large Numbers Thinlits with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the Brushwork Alphabet and Thoughtful Banners stamp sets for my sentiment.

Marriage is a Journey

Here's that Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder again! I just love the dramatic and textured background it provides for a host of cards.

I am loving the new In Colors (available June 1) Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. They are officially my favorites of the five. Paired up with the neutral Basic Gray, I think they make a bright and cheery card. I layered the Flourish Thinlit flower and stem and added a retired It's My Party Enamel dot for the center of the flower.

Thanks for looking today! I hope you will choose my Online Store for your Stampin' Up! purchases. I'd love to be your demonstrator!

Flourishing Sympathy

I CASED this beautiful card from Shannon Jaramillo. It looks so classy and is a very substantial card, my base being the extra thick Whisper White card stock. I used a print Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My favorite little accent is the Burlap Ribbon behind the Layering Ovals sentiment. Also, that large flourish from Flourish Thinlits pretty much make the card in one smooth move. Thank you, Shannon, for the inspiration!

Mini Cards From Paper Pumpkin and FREE GIFT Reminder!

I'm using all the pieces of the March Paper Pumpkin to create what I need for giving out encouragements. This is the mini card (with envelope) that came in the kit. I used the already printed card, added my sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and then added the delicate flower from Flourish Thinlits. I cut the leftover bunny pompom in half and used the leftover large glue dot to hold it in place on the center of my flower. Leftover coordinating string was tied around my card front into a bow.

I will be using these mini cards to write encouraging notes to my Core Group at Bible Study as my way of saying thank you for being in my group and farewell until next year! What I really love about these cards is that I don't need them to be finished until six weeks from now, and fortunately I will be ready!!

Don't forget that if YOU want to receive Paper Pumpkin for yourself, Sara has created a fun new kit just in time for April shipment! Not only was the April Paper Pumpkin kit inspired and designed by Sara, but she’s including a FREE gift for everyone! You must subscribe before April 10th to receive her specially designed kit and free gift! Jar of Thanks Easel Card in Blues

Happy Saturday! I made another easel card, this time in different colors. I like this one even better! I can't wait to give this card to a special someone.

When was the last time you used glitter?  I have a lot of it sitting on my shelf. This chunky glitter that is sort of a copper color is my favorite. It's a retired Stampin' Up! product. I just can't let it go. After all, glitter never goes bad!

Thank You Easel Card

I love easel cards, but I have never written down the dimensions and score line measurements. I have an easel card that a fellow stamper gave me a long time ago, and it sits propped up on my shelf at all times. I take it down and measure each part of it whenever I want to make a card using this fold. Silly, right? I need to get a sticky note or have some other way of having those measurements handy!

What I like about easel cards is that you CAN prop them up and display them without any fuss, and for a good, long time! So, I encourage you to look up the tutorial on Splitcoast and make your own easel card. Keep those measurements handy, you will really make someone feel special!

Thanks for coming by today. I hope you are inspired. Won't you leave me a comment and let me know you were here?

Sending Silver Sympathy

I don't like making sympathy cards, however, they are a necessity for card-givers like me. I've learned lately to keep at least one on hand at all times. There are times when you want your card to arrive in a timely fashion or you wish to be able to drop one off with flowers at short notice.

I hadn't used my Flourishing Phrases set much and I got this new Detailed Floral Thinlits dies recently. WOW. Packs a punch without much effort on my part. I chose Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White and Silver Foil paper and I think it's very elegant looking. I accented some of the flowers using Metallic Enamel Shapes and *free* ribbon from Sale-A-Bration.

I'm glad you stopped by today. Won't you leave me a comment? I love reading each one.

Three Painted Note Cards

I'm sorry I do not remember the whose tutorial I watched to learn how to shade this bloom from Flourishing Phrases. I started by stamping the bloom in a light shade onto Shimmery White card stock after "stamping off" and then using my Aqua Painter to pick up a darker shade from the lid of an ink pad and painting it onto a corner and down the side of each petal. I came back to them and just brushed the color over the entire petal and then let them dry.

I cut the circles using the Layering Circles Framelits and then framed them using the scalloped framelit in a complimentary color.

I adhered each framed bloom onto a Crumb Cake Note Card and tied a coordinating Ruched Ribbon into a bow to the left of the bloom. Lastly, I used a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped it using Crumb Cake Ink.

Using this easy technique will make you look like you know how to watercolor! The Shimmery White card stock takes the Aqua Painter and ink much better than the Whisper White card stock.

I hope you enjoyed looking today! Have a wonderful day. Please leave me a comment if you have the time.

Thank You Again

I hope you can stand another card that has the same colors, stamp set and thinlits!  Today I delivered two thank you baskets and this was the second card (see yesterday's post).

This time I used the stamped image as a sort of shadow, and then layered on the thinlit expertly cut using the Flourish Thinlits. I used my Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the delicate flourish. I added a piece of Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim and then a line of Basic Pearls on top of that. I think it's very elegant.

Thank you for looking! I'd love to read your comments!

Flourishing Thank You

Sometimes "thank you" just doesn't seem like enough! This card will accompany a basket full of bath and beauty products and a gift card for a massage. I wanted to make a few cards at once, so I used the Flourishing Phrases large flowering plant image as the main feature on Very Vanilla card stock. I used Blushing Bride ink. I added a lot of pearls because I have so many! Then I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Soft Suede ink.

I added a Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon tied in a bow before adhering the Very Vanilla piece to the Mint Macaron card base. This is the kind of card you could easily duplicate and have a whole stack of "thank you" cards ready to go!

I hope you enjoyed my creation today. I'd love to read your comments!

I Love You for PPA308 and Bonus Days Starts TODAY!

I loved this week's sketch for Pals Paper Arts! Ann Schach is one of my favorite paper artists and it was a nod to her that I put so many pearls on my card! Ann is the QUEEN of pearls and I wish I were more like her--I'm a pearl hoarder, I admit it, but not today!

I finally got a chance to use my Flourishing Phrases stamp set and matching Flourish Thinlits. See that lovely flower in two colors on the oval die cut? It's from the Flourish Thinlits. With the help of the Die Brush set it comes out SO easily from the die after cutting. It's a MUST HAVE when using detailed thinlits in your Big Shot.
