Birds & Branches You Are Loved

My sky background was made using a Blending Brush and ink pads.

 

This is my first card with a new bundle that I received as a prize. I was so excited to have won and I couldn't wait to use the Birds and Branches stamp set and the coordinating Birds and More Dies. My sentiment is from the A Wish for Everything stamp set. The dry embossing was done using the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder. The sweet bird was colored using the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.

Warm Hearted Mistletoe

This card was made using a lot of green because I'm green with envy that many Stampin' Up! demonstrators are at On Stage in Orlando celebrating Stampin' Up!'s 30th Birthday! I just couldn't get away at this time of year, so some of us are making cards with green in them and posting them in our private Facebook Gallery. I'm sharing with all of you right here on my blog!

This card is original except for the sentiment tag, which was inspired by Sandi MacIver, a fellow demonstrator from Canada. I love how she added the frills around the "Thanks", all stamps from the Warm Hearted (Host) stamp set. Then she punched the corners ticket style using the Everyday Label Punch. Very clever, Sandi!

Springtime Impressions Birthday

Another great thing about this layout is you only need half a sheet of the 6" x 6" designer series paper. You can use up a lot of scraps this way!

This card was made in the image of one that I received in a swap this summer. I'm sorry I do not know who had the original idea. The thing I loved about this card were the colors and the fact that I could use my Stamparatus tool to make any color ink embossed.

By stamping the sentiment first in two colors of ink using the Stamparatus, I could then clean off the stamp, re-ink with VersaMark, then use Clear Embossing Powder to heat emboss. The colors now have a shine to them and look raised.  The Stamparatus helps you place the VersaMark over the ink colors in EXACTLY the same spot you had stamped them. Genius!

Coloring is so relaxing for me. I just set my mind to "artist" mode, even though I'm NOT an artist!! I used my Pink Pirouette and Powder Pink Stampin' Write Markers to color the petals and I used Pear Pizzazz and Lemon Lime Twist makers for those leaves. I cut the basket out using the Layering Circles Framelits. I paired up my pink theme with Whole Lot of Lovely piece of Designer Series Paper on the left panel.

It's Your Day! Sparkly Birthday Greetings with Party Hat Birthday

Another Occasions Catalog (pg. 9) inspired card today. This one was made as a gift tag, and at the top there was a colorful Mini Binder Clip and a bow tied using White Baker's Twine. 

I made the "gift tag" the focal point of my card, placed a tab and circle and tied a Silver 1/8" Ribbon bow, stuck on with a glue dot. My tag was then mounted onto the mat of Berry Burst that I embossed with the fun Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This card is like a party!

Anniversary Celebration

This card was inspired by a birthday card that Beth Geraghty made in Powder Pink. I chose the darker Berry Burst because I didn't have Powder Pink ribbon. When I finished the card, I decided I would give it to a couple who were celebrating their first wedding anniversary. When I got ready to place the card into the envelope, I remembered that their wedding color was Berry Burst! I was so excited and I hope they recognize it when they open it!

The lovely Finely Woven Berry Burst Ribbon is so easy to tie! I was not mailing the card, so it was easy to make the bow on the card front.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous for a Gentleman

Petal Burst Thinking of You

Whenever new stamp sets come out, I always need ideas on what to do with them! Since the preview of Colorful Seasons began on May 1st, I have seen a lot of beautiful cards on Pinterest, Splitcoast and private galleries. This is one of my favorites by Butterflysandbows by Michel Jutrisa.

For the sentiment, she stamped it in two increments so it came out in two lines rather than the one line it is on the stamp. Easily done because the stamp is Photopolymer, so you can see just where the stamp is on the pad. Don't forget to clean your stamp in between times and make sure it's dry before you stamp the second time!

Three Painted Note Cards

I'm sorry I do not remember the whose tutorial I watched to learn how to shade this bloom from Flourishing Phrases. I started by stamping the bloom in a light shade onto Shimmery White card stock after "stamping off" and then using my Aqua Painter to pick up a darker shade from the lid of an ink pad and painting it onto a corner and down the side of each petal. I came back to them and just brushed the color over the entire petal and then let them dry. 

I cut the circles using the Layering Circles Framelits and then framed them using the scalloped framelit in a complimentary color.

I adhered each framed bloom onto a Crumb Cake Note Card and tied a coordinating Ruched Ribbon into a bow to the left of the bloom. Lastly, I used a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped it using Crumb Cake Ink.

Using this easy technique will make you look like you know how to watercolor! The Shimmery White card stock takes the Aqua Painter and ink much better than the Whisper White card stock.
