Enjoy Today's Seasonal Layers

With the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog debuting in a few weeks, it's exciting seeing new products, sad to see some products retire, and thrilling to put the new and continuing products together. 

Today's card has all three elements.

1.  The new: "Enjoy Today" from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. I have already made/shown several cards with this set. The background on the Whisper White oval is from the new Verdant Garden stamp set. I stamped the vines in Garden Green, then colored the leaves with Garden Green ink and my blender pen and the background with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker.

2. The retiring: The Brick Wall embossing folder is retiring. I love this folder, and I may just keep mine, however I will let you know that there is a new 3D Brick & Mortar folder debuting.

3.  The continuing:  Seasonal Layers Dies is what I used to make the beautiful branch with two-part flowers. Easy! No coloring, just layering.  Those two pieces of ribbon are also continuing and they are: 5/8" Burlap and Whisper White Flax ribbons.

Simple but lovely and bold is how I describe today's card. This is a card that can be given for a birthday, anniversary or job well done! In this case, it was for someone who joined my team recently. 

I simply took the large branch image and stamped it vertically on the side and then stamped and cut out the flower images. The bold red color matches the ribbon I tied in a knot and also the "Congratulations!" sentiment. DONE!

Wreath Cards with Stamparatus

I finally had a chance to learn how to create wreath cards using the Stamparatus. Once you get the general idea, it's so fun and easy. The possibilities are endless for creating wreaths! You can use words, leaves, flowers, pumpkins, ornaments, snowflakes, etc! Good for any holiday or occasion. 

Colors: Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, Soft Suede
Stamp Set: Pop of Paradise

My experience is that the smaller the image, the smaller the square you can use. Here I placed the pineapples on the diamond instead of the square. 

If you are interested in learning how to create wreath cards using any stamp images, just go onto YouTube and do a search. There are many tutorials and I used a few to get the idea and the best hints to make it work. Most of all, don't forget to purchase a Stamparatus!

Just Breathe

Sometimes life gets tough and people need encouragement. This card, stamped with the Colorful Seasons stamp set sets a lovely serene scene. It reminds me of my happy place-the beach!

I made this because I saw it in the new Annual Catalog (which goes live June 1st). The stamp set is not new, but this layout is. I haven't used the coordinating Seasonal Layers thinlits nearly enough! Those waves can be used for a myriad of designs. Doesn't that lemonade make you thirsty?

I have been absent from blogging for awhile, but summer is over and I'm back! This is a card I created for my August Workshop and I love the Lemon Lime Twist paired with Crumb Cake. The Designer Series Paper is Painted Autumn and I think it's my favorite fall paper of all time!

The Stitched Shapes Framelits are still getting a lot of use in my craft room. They "finish" my sentiments quickly and perfectly. And that Ombre Ribbon!!! This card is finished in a flash!

August Pals Blog Hop: Cut It Out

Welcome to the August 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month we’re going to “Cut It Out”. Participants will feature projects with “cuts” from punches, dies, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

I imagined a sideways card with a circle cut out on the right side and my sentiment peeking out from the inside and some kind of floral arrangement because of our CUT theme. But this card didn't come out the way I first imagined, yet I love it!

The floral arrangement easily created using the Everyday Jars Framelits and my Big Shot was much better suited to a tall card. This is the first time I used Vellum Card Stock as a jar, I believe, but it made sense with a Crumb Cake card base. Those stems stamped on the base were supposed to be "in" the base, but here they ended up looking like the stems that I didn't use in my arrangement.

I added a little Wink of Stella on the darks parts of my blooms for a little shine. Also, my dragonfly has sparkling wings and body, too!

Thinking of You Beach Scene

When it's time to let someone know you are thinking of them, it's nice to send a serene card. I like how Colorful Seasons lets you do just that. My "water" is from Timeless Textures using Marine Mist ink. My sand is a combination of Timeless Textures and Work of Art using Crumb Cake ink.

Add a cheerful yellow umbrella, chair and lemonade and you are in the business of letting someone know you are trying to lift their spirits. The drink has a little shine from a clear Wink of Stella pen.

Petal Burst Thinking of You

Whenever new stamp sets come out, I always need ideas on what to do with them! Since the preview of Colorful Seasons began on May 1st, I have seen a lot of beautiful cards on Pinterest, Splitcoast and private galleries. This is one of my favorites by Butterflysandbows by Michel Jutrisa.

For the sentiment, she stamped it in two increments so it came out in two lines rather than the one line it is on the stamp. Easily done because the stamp is Photopolymer, so you can see just where the stamp is on the pad. Don't forget to clean your stamp in between times and make sure it's dry before you stamp the second time!

Rose Soap Leaves on Display

I am a volunteer tutor and we are having our end of year banquet tomorrow. I am hosting six ladies at my table, so I made each of them a special gift they can take home and use while on break this summer. I found the soap leaves, which are shaped into rose blooms, at World Market. They come 20 in a box and they come in different colors and scents. I chose all pink.

These gorgeous 2" x 2" clear boxes from Stampin' Up! have been sitting on my desk for quite awhile. I didn't know what I would do with them, but when I found those soap leaves, I was hoping several of the blooms would fit into them!

The only thing left to do was decorate the boxes. I chose "FOR YOU" from the May "Sprinkled with Love" Paper Pumpkin stamp set. Next to it on my Sweet & Sassy heart is a bloom from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (debuts June 1) stamped in the *new* Powder Pink ink and accented with Smoky Slate to match the Smoky Slate 1/8" Stitched Ribbon.
