Housewarming Card

Happy Thursday! I haven't had much time for creating, but needed a card to go with a housewarming gift. A young couple I know are moving into their first house and I purchased some fun things they can use around the house. The gifts were placed into a burlap-covered bin, and included candles, a wooden "M" for their last name, some Valentine paper plates and napkins and an enamel photo frame. The candles were my color inspiration for this card: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz.

I certainly used a lot of Stampin' Up products to create this card, but I hadn't used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set in a very long time. The sentiment comes from the Better Together stamp set, which I hadn't inked up yet. You can see how all of the stamp sets, old and new can work together to make a lovely card.

Thanks for looking today! I hope you are inspired and that you will leave me a comment so I know you looked.

Invitation For You

I set out to make a handsome birthday card, but instead I ended up making this wreath card that I will use for an invitation. All of my local Paper Pumpkin customers are going to be invited to have tea at my house in December! I want to thank each of them for joining me in loving our monthly Paper Pumpkin kits!

I used a Very Vanilla card base. I layered on a piece of Soft Suede. I stamped the wreath from the Wondrous Wreath photopolymer stamp set in Soft Suede and then the second layer in VersaMark, heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. Next, I cut out the wreath and a bow using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and Gold Foil card stock. Stunning!

The last thing I added was a 1-1/4" band across the bottom. I stamped "For You" from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set using VersaMark and Gold embossing powder.

What do you think? I will also be making birthday cards using the same outline but a different sentiment. I think it's perfect for masculine OR feminine.

I'd love to read your comments and just to know you are "out there" following along!

September Pals Blog Hop! Join Us!

Welcome to the September Pals Blog Hop. This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the hop or may have come from Kathy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping, #9 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all of the amazing creations.

My daughter and her family just moved into a new place. Of course I had to make them a card! I used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set from the new Holiday Catalog. Most of the work is done for you because the wreath is stamped in three parts. All you have to do is decide what colors to use. The sign for the door that says, "A New Home" was made using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp and Neutrals Candy Dots.

I chose to hang my wreath on a "door" with a window. I made my door from Early Espresso card stock which gets is woodgrain from the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. Next, I cut a large oval from the top of the door using the Oval Punch. I cut two 1/8" strips and crossed them for the window panes.

The wreath base is stamped onto Crumb Cake card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. The accent leaves were stamped over the base using Garden Green ink. Instead of using the third wreath shape, which is berries, I used the small flower stamp from the set for my accents. They are stamped in Blackerry Bliss. The two tones of this purple color are achieved by "stamping off." They are expertly cut out using the Wonderful Wreath framelits, as is the Blackberry Bliss bow and it's Mossy Meadow matt bow.

The door knob plate is achieved by punching a So Saffron Little Labels shape and adding the Brushed Gold circle for a knob. I used the Owl Builder Punch for the perfect-sized circle.

What I love about the Wondrous Wreath stamp set is that it is NOT just for Christmas!! There are so many possibilities with this set. Those darling die cuts in the Wonderful Wreath Framelit sets are too much fun!
I'd love to know what you thought of my favorite items from the new Holiday Catalog. Won't you leave me a comment? They always make me smile. Consider subscribing to my blog so you won't miss a post!

Gift Bag Tag

Happy Day! A friend is celebrating a birthday and I love using these Chevron Tag a Bag Gift Bags. They go with any color scheme and hold a variety of items like gifts or treats.

Who says Wondrous Wreath is only for Christmas? I stamped the bottom layer of leaves in Pistachio Pudding ink, the next layer in Calypso Coral (stamped off) and then the berries in full on Calypso Coral. I cut the wreath out perfectly by using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies. My sentiment is from Flamingo Lingo. It's cut out perfeclty using Bitty Banners Framelits. I tied a piece of Cotton Ribbon in a knot and then added a Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon tie over the knot. Isn't it pretty?

Thank you for visiting today! I hope you will take a moment to leave a comment. The comments keep me going!

San Diego Pals Gathering Projects!!!

Last weekend, a group of about a dozen Stampin' Pretty Pals got together in San Diego to stamp, chat and enjoy lunch. I'm sharing the favors we were given as well as the projects we all completed during out fun time together.

Peggy Noe of Pretty Paper Cards gave each of us this lovely box filled with candy! They were arranged on a tiered server and looked so lovely together. She made use of those cute Tiny Treat Boxes from the upcoming Holiday Catalog.

Next, Peggy created this lovely card for us to make and take. We got to use the Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask to daub hearts all over the front of this card using ink. Peggy taught us how to make these "suede" flowers. They are wonderful and easy to make. They make an excellent decoration on tags, cards, packages, etc.

Shannon Jaramillo at EZ Peasy Cards designed this cute favor box, using the Fry Box Bigz L Die and the Big Shot. We used the circle shape from the Work of Art stamp set to stamp colorful dots all over the box before we assembled it. Isn't it cute? Imagine the possibilities.

Donna Kopenski at Crafty Cardmaker designed this note pad cover. We created out own pattern using Bordering Blooms and Flowering Flourishes stamp sets and Itty Bitty Punch Pack and Petite Petals punches.

Inside, there is a pocket for holding business cards, notes, etc.

Linda Foster showed us how to "spritz" onto our stamp after it's inked for this watercolor look on watercolor paper. It looks so fancy, yet was fairly easy to create. I loved learning this new technique! The wreath is stamped in three stages from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set that is in the new Holiday Catalog, which goes live August 28th.

Linda Foster helped us create this JOYful card! Again we sponged the stripes using Dots and Stripes Decorative Mask set. Next we added three "joy" die cuts in Real Red that were layered together and topped with a Silver Foil "joy." The Wonderful Wreath Framelits from the Holiday Catalog.

Here is a look from the side. I love the 3-D effect here and how fancy it is with the silver on top. You could just use card stock, but this way it's over the top. The sentiment is from Endless Wishes, also available in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.

I'm pleased to show Karen Wilkinson's gift box (filled with tea bags). She gave one to each attendee. Karen is my friend and my downline. This was her first SU event and we really had a fun time.

If you'd like to be a member of our group, you can sign up for $99 and receive $150 worth of products that you choose through August 28th. More information can be found here.
