Three C's Birthday for Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Hello! Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! I LOVE this week's color palette and I'm sure there will be a whole world of creations, so don't forget to check them out and join us!

This card says, "hello" and will be a birthday card. You don't always have to have the main sentiment on the outside!

The stamp set Spring Sampler provided the three images for my little portraits. I decided to mat each image with the same color card stock. The little "hello" from Tiny Tags is punched out using the Petite Curly Label punch. All images were framed using the Postage Stamp punch.

Thank you for looking at my card today. Won't you please leave me a comment below? I love to read them all and you have been so kind!

Pals Holiday Mini Blog Hop

Welcome to the August Pals Blog Hop! Huge thanks to Nicole Watt for making our Hop Badge in MDS! We are featuring projects made with items from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, which is good through January 2, 2013. I hope you will visit each and every blog listed below my projects for ideas on what to order and how to use the latest Stampin' Up! products. Here we go!!

You've probably hopped over from Chatty Cathy Card Creations by Cathy King, and I'm stop #7 and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop" along from blog to blog. Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.

My first project is the Christmas card. I used designer paper from the new Festival of Prints designer series paper stack to create most of my vertical banners. The paper stack is a convenient 4 x 6" size, just perfect for creating cards. The other banner in my display is made by stamping one of the images from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set onto the new 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon. Yes, I said I stamped on it! It is very easy to do and the images show up perfectly!

Other new items on my first card are: Holiday Ornaments Framelits, which perfectly cut out these Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler ornaments. They also perfectly cut around other shapes in the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set. The tiny ornament stamped in Cherry Cobbler onto the round ornament above is from the new stamp set Merry Minis. There is a matching Merry Minis Punch Pack for popping out your stamped images, also!!

My second card has a little boo boo on it, but I doubt most people would notice! I used another set of prints from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, but I mistakenly framed them using Tempting Turquoise instead of Island Indigo! Oops, but no worries because the colors are very close to each other.

One of the focal points on this card are the Ornament Keepsakes "cat-eye" shaped images I easily die cut using the Holiday Ornaments Framelits. I added a pearl to each one and made them into "anchors" for my Apothecary Accents Framelit which holds my sentiment from the Trust God stamp set. Aren't they beautiful?

The second focal point is one I'm really enjoying being creative with: the 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in Crumb Cake. Here it is secured over ribbon layers of Island Indigo (Ruffled Ribbon) and Early Espresso (1/8" taffeta) using a new Ribbon Slide. Just a little snippet of the tulle really pops on this card. You can also make dreamy package bows and other items with this tulle! It's very versatile!

I hope you have been inspired! Have YOU decided what you will want from the Holiday Catalog? You can order here any time.

Now hop on for more inspiring ideas to Beth Beard at My Little Craft Blog, stop #8 on the Pals Holiday Catalog Blog Hop! Thanks for hopping by!

Champagne Ornament

The very first thing I did when I got my new Holiday Ornaments Framelits and Champagne Glimmer paper was cut out this cutie! In a snap you have an ornament! All I added were two Jewelry Tag punches, a sentiment and a bow from Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon! Sweet!

Have you checked out my new Retired Stamps for Sale Page? Please give it a look and email me if you are interested in any of the stamp sets.

Thanks for looking and I hope your weekend is fantastic!

Sweet Gift Bag

Hello! Have you seen the tulle in the Holiday Mini Catalog? (Click for Flash Version see page 4) It's heavenly! It's very soft, 3-1/2" wide and scalloped on both edges! It comes in Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. I am really loving creating with it! It's perfect to wrap around a gift, pinch into a rosette or gather as an edging. You get 10 yards for $6.95!

Here I folded the Crumb Cake Tulle in half and used it to line the top edge of the Fancy Favor Box die cut from a piece of Natural Composition Specialty paper.

And that CUTE glimmering star? It's punched from the new Champagne Glimmer Paper with the new Merry Minis Punch Pack star!

I also fancied up the bottom edge of the tulle "skirt" around the middle of the bag using some Basic Rhinestones. It's tied on the side with a piece of Linen Thread.

Hanging from the bow are two tags punched from Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Jewelry Tag punch. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler with a stamp from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

I hope you enjoy today's project. The idea actually came to me suddenly, starting with adding the rhinestones to the tulle! I think you could open the tulle to it's full width and make a fun pattern on it with rhinestones!

I have more tulle projects to show you next week when my Pals and I "hop" on Tuesday! I hope you will check back then. Better yet, why don't you subscribe by entering your email address on the widget on the left side bar. Then simply confirm by email that you wish to receive my blog updates and you are subscribed! Birthday Jar

Hi Everyone! I've been taking it easy this past 10 days, but I'm back! I decorated this jar full of my home made granola for a friend's birthday. I try and make some sort of goodie for each of my best friends for their birthday. I began with one of the Framelits Labels, die cut in Melon Mambo, then run through the Lines Embossing Folder.

Next, I added some Scallop Circle punches from First Edition Designer Series Ppaer. I scrunched them up and put them together using an Antique Brad. I tied on a Jewelry Tag, with Melon Mambo-stamped "4 You" using Linen Thread. I also tied on a snippet of Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon. This photo makes the jar look small, but it is about twice the size of a regular baby food jar.

The words "homemade granola" are written on a Modern Label punched out in Baja Breeze.

Thanks for looking! I hope you will leave your comments below--I love reading them!

Happy Halloween

I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween! I like to hand out candy and see the costumes, so I will be home waiting for the doorbell to ring!

Can you see how I made my "bat" from ribbon? I simply tied a small piece of Stampin' Up's 1/2" Scallop Dots ribbon (Basic Black) into a knot and made sure that there were two white dots where the eyes would be. I blacked out the rest of the dots on the "face" with a black Sharpie, and cut the edges of the wings to look bat-like. You like? Leave me a comment.

Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Gray
Designer Series Paper: Frightful Sight
Stamps: Grateful Greetings, Tiny Tags
Ink: Cajun Craze
Markers: Cajun Craze, Basic Black
Accessories: Square Scallop Punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Glitter Brad, Big Shot, Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates, Stampin' Dimensionals

Don't have too much candy/sugar tonight! If you need any Stampin' Up!, I'd be happy to answer your questions, and you can order any time using my Website.

Pals September Blog Hop - "Halloween and Fall"

You've likely hopped over from Jeanne Norris at My Creative Impressions, I'm stop number TWO on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in!

I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Fall and Halloween paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

My project for this month's Pals Blog Hop is a Halloween-themed treat favor. I began with a Frightful Sight designer series pattern that was die cut in my big shot using the Top Note Die. I cut it down the middle length-wise, then inserted each side into a folded Old Olive Top Note die cut.I wrapped just the front with a Basic Black 3/8" grosgrain ribbon and knotted it.

I added the sentiment from Grateful Greetings using Stampin Write markers: Basic Black and Cajun Craze. My tags are Jewelry Tags that are decorated with a tiny pumpkin from one of the prints on the Frightful Sight designer series paper and "Boo!" from Tiny Tags stamp set. They aretied on with Linen Thread. The left side of the treat cover has a punched out spider (Frightful Sight) that is set off-center of a Basic Black mat.

Inside is an individually-wrapped, chocolate dipped Biscotti! YUM.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my project! Please hop along for more inspiring ideas from Melanie Collins at Oops A Daisy, stop number THREE on the September Pals Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

PPA99--Punching Stars!

This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is to use *STARS* in your project!

I learned how to make this spinning *star* design from Dawn Olchefske. Here is how to make one:

Using your Large Star punch, punch the base star from Whisper White.
Using your Small Star punch, punch the Night of Navy star.
Using your Small Star punch, punch a Cherry Cobbler star. Then use your Large Star punch again, to outline/punch the large star.
Pop the Night of Navy Small star up with a Stampin' Dimensional onto the center of the Whisper White star.
Center the Cherry Cobbler outline star over the Night of Navy Small star. Press down gently.
Spin the Cherry Cobbler star!

I added a sentiment "4 (like 4th of July!) You" punched from Whisper White using a 1/2" Circle punch.

I hope you learned something you can use on a project! Please leave your comments below. And don't forget to stay tuned all week for some exciting PPA announcements! We are getting ready to celebrate our 100th challenge next week!

Happy Birthday Card and Gift Card Holder

Here is a birthday card I made for my son's girlfriend. She is sweet and she is also my trainer, so I am fortunate to get to spend a few hours each week with her!

I stamped each of the images from Things I Love stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock, punched them with my 1" square punch, then punched a Cherry Cobbler border for them. I set them under the sentiment that was stamped onto Crumb Cake using Chocolate Chip ink. The card itself is Naturals Ivory card stock.

Inside, I included a gift card and made a holder to match the card. It fit nicely in the 5-1/4 x 5-1/4" card. I used Stampin' Up's *new* Hostess stamp set Posy Punch (available July 1). This particular posy was stamped onto Crumb Cake card stock using Soft Suede ink, then punched out with the Fancy Flower punch. Then I added the "4 U" from Tiny Tags in Real Red ink and punched it out with my 1/2" circle punch. I used Real Red 3/8" grosgrain ribbon to close the card holder.

Here is what it looks like when it is open.

The gift card holder is made from a 4-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock that is scored on the 3", 5-1/2" and 8" lines. I used Sticky Strip on the back side of where you see here (on either side of the gift card, but on the BACK) and then used the Word Window punch (twice) and the 3/4" circle punch to make it easy to slip the card in. I used a corner rounder on the corners.

I hope you like this matched set. I love to read comments, so please leave yours below.

July 1st the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog from Stampin' Up! goes live!

PPA94 Sketch Challenge

Well, here is the full reveal! I love this sketch. Originally, I was worried about how to add a sentiment, but then I figured out I'd use one of the elements on the card to fit it in. It worked beautifully!

I chose cheery colors which were inspired by a wedding invitation we received. I loved how they looked together!

Here is a little surprise inside!!

Here is what I used:
Card Stock: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Designer Paper: Neutrals Patterns Pack
Stamps: Tiny Tags
Ink: Daffodil Delight
Special Tools: Circle punches, Scallop Trim border punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glimmer Basic Brads, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

Won't you play along?
