Halloween Treat Boxes

All of the above projects were made using instructions from an Erica Cerwin class. I purchased her instructions and used the Spooktacular Bash stamp, the Ornate Frames Dies, the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, Monster Bash Enamel Shapes and Black Foil Sheets to complete these cute boxes. I have handed the out with various goodies inside.

If you are interested in making boxes as favors or for small gifts, there are TONS of instructions out there, just search on YouTube or Splitcoast for complete instructions, tutorials and videos to help you create your boxes and then decorate them using your Stampin' Up! supplies, which you can purchase using my Online Store

Halloween Note - Not Too Scary!

I don't do scary Halloween, or even much Halloween at all, but I thought of using the brand new Card Front Builder Thinlits from the new Holiday Catalog for a Halloween sky, rather than a Christmas sky. (Catalog goes live September 1st).

There are so many possibilities with this die set! They can be winter or fall or, as I've shown today--Halloween! And that cute little deer! Can't wait to make more with this set and the matching Carols of Christmas stamp set. Order both as a bundle and save 10% starting September 1st!

Halloween Treats and Stamp Treats!

I made these simple and fun covers for mini-M&M treats for all of my Workshop attendees last night. They were very simple to put together and I got the idea from Patty Bennett. She used a different paper and a different shape for her mini Hershey Bars, but the bat, "boo" and moon with a golden bow were the same. I love how that moon looks!

I fussy cut those bats and the "boo" was cut using a 3/4" Circle Punch. My ink colors were Basic Black and Tangelo Twist. The Designer Paper is Typeset Specialty. I didn't really put folds into it, just use Tear & Tape to adhere it to the bag and then to itself. The pieces were cut 4" x 6".
I just got back in town from a long vacation, so this is the first opportunity to tell you about our Stamp Sale! Please take advantage of it TODAY, as it ends TOMORROW!!

What is that set you've put off buying? What set is at the top of your Wish List? Order it today using my Online Store

One More Day!!

It's really never too early to start making holiday cards. This time of year, everyone is going back to school, and sometimes that means a little more time for making things while those kiddos are gone all day.

Stampin' Up! is debuting their Holiday Catalog on September 1st, which is right around the corner--I mean TOMORROW!! It's so exciting! I don't make a lot of Halloween cards, but with the Happy Scenes stamp set (sentiment) and the Hearth and Home Framelits (Basic Black Window Frame), it's easy to have a little fun at this time of year.

I CASEd this card from Nicole Tugrul. I didn't have the spider web stamp (from new set Witches' Night) so I just drew my own spider web with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I used a Window Sheet to make a shaker window and put some In Color and retired silver sequins (from last year's Holiday Catalog) that will shake and move around inside my window. The black stars are from the Confetti Stars Border Punch and the background is embossed using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  My little spider is from the Cheer All Year stamp set, also available tomorrow in the new Holiday Catalog. (If you need a copy and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, please email me and I will send you a free Holiday Catalog)

Happy Scenes CASE from Convention

At the Stampin' Up! Convention last month, there were a lot of boards set up with cards that were designed using new stamp sets and tools that are coming out September 1st. This is one of the cards that was up on the board and it's my version of the card, so that means I CASEd it. CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything. That means that those who create love to share, and those who are browsing, love to copy!
The lovely bow is the Gold Cording, which makes it return to Stampin' Up! September 1st
My card base is Crumb Cake, then the Into the Woods DSP print is framed using Early Espresso card stock. My window is Basic Black cut out using the new Hearth and Home Framelits. I love these things! They and the stamp set Happy Scenes are my favorite bundle from the new catalog! You save 15% by buying the bundles.

I used my Stampin' Write Markers and my ink pads with blender pens to color the pumpkin Happy Scene. My window is popped up over the scene using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The "celebrate the season" sentiment is stamped using VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder, which was set using a heat gun.

I hope you enjoyed looking and that you will please leave a comment for me below!

PPA223 Color Challenge--Take a Bite!

Life is getting back to normal since our company left on Friday. I'm able to get into my craft room and make things with paper again. I wouldn't change a thing, but it is so nice to create again. I have a Workshop coming up next week and I made these little goodies for each attendee. I used the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge colors above.

When I went to cut out my first Basic Black Chalk Talk tag, I used a scrap piece of card stock. There happened to be a scallop shape right where the lower right corner of the tag would go. I thought, "Hey, that looks like a bite!" and I went with that idea for the rest of the tags!!

Thanks for looking today. I hope you are inspired to play along at the PPA!

For all of your Stampin' Up! products, I hope you will use my Online Store.

Halloween Treats Bound for Chicago

Halloween is fun for kids and I have fun preparing! We live on a dark cul-de-sac, so I reward those brave enough to venture all the way down the dark lane! The trick-or-treaters that knock on my door receive FULL sized candy bars! But for special people that I love, I like to make smaller treats that reflect my crafting skills! These four will end up in Chicago in time for those cute Goblins I know there.

These 3-1/2" by 3-1/2" squares of Vellum Card Stock were a snap to sew up! I began by sewing on three sides, then stuffing the Hershey Miniatures and squeezing the fourth side until it lay flat. After that last line of stitching, all that is left to do is decorate.

Washi Tape brings a great pattern to the vellum and then one of my Blog Candy pieces from this post finished off my special treat in no time!
My treat bags were inspired by a swap I received while at Convention in July. I did not get the Demonstrator's name, so I can't give her credit. Think of all the shapes you could sew into a pouch and all of the different "flat" treats you could give. Decorate for any holiday and make someone feel special!!

Remember, you only have until October 21st to sign up for the $25 Starter Kit! Try out being part of the Stampin' Up! family and the Stampin' Pretty Pals (my favorite part) for only $25! Without further obligation to buy or sell, you will be part of the group that is "in-the-know" through April 30, 2014! Check it out here.

Silly Spooky for Creative Crew

Creative Crew keeps me coming up with fun new projects, that's for sure. I don't collect a lot of Halloween stamp sets, so these are retired ones, but fun ones from last year. I love the Googly Eyes I added to this cute and silly witch.

CCREW1013DF is the Challenge name, so if you'd like to play along and upload your card to the Splitcoast Creative Crew Gallery, please do join us!

The Challenge was to create a card or project using the colors from the Witch's Brew Designer Series Paper in the current Holiday Catalog. Not having the paper, I used the colors instead. They are: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit and Pumpkin Pie.

I hope you enjoy my friend above and that you will play along. Just see the Creative Crew Challenge page for October here.

Washi Tape Halloween for PPA172

This is about as scary as I get for Halloween--a couple of spiders! This card was SO quick to put together once I decided colors and what my horizontal elements would be. Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape is perfect for some quick "stripes" in any direction!

My sentiment is simply Tags 4 You "Trick or Treat" stamped in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla card stock and then easily punched out using the Label Bracket Punch.

The ladies in my monthly workshop made this card in a regular A2 size last night. I always like to have one quick card for them to make before we get to the more complicated ones!

Thanks for looking and I really do hope you play along this week with Pals Paper Arts! Make your card, scrapbook page or other paper item using our sketch for inspiration, upload a photo of it onto our site and YOU may be a Pals Pick and your card posted largely on our blog next week!

These Hello Kitty Cocoa packets were purchased at World Market. They fit nicely into the pouches and look SO cute!

Feline on the Fancy Fence

Happy Weekend! I hope yours is going well. I woke up in the middle of the night with this idea: Stamp the Frightening Feline stamp half in Black on White and half White on Black. I used embossing powder on both halves for some texture.

I decided to add some details to this feline's face with Basic Rhinestones and a 1/8" Basic Black taffeta ribbon bow.

I decided to give her a fancy fence using the Finishing Touches Edgelit. Isn't it fun?

Thanks for looking. Please leave me your comments below--I read each one!

Last Days for Spooktacular Starter Kit Special!

There are only TWO MORE DAYS to take advantage of Stampin' Up's Spooktacular Starter Kit Special! Here is what the completed kit looks like. I made mine yesterday, having earned my kit from signing at least one recruit during the promotion. Please see my promotions page HERE for details.

Here is the photo that I inserted where the kit suggests. This is not a photo from a Halloween, but rather, my kids were using dress up clothes! The photo is from 1994, so a definite *flashback*! The fun part is that the "soldier" in the photo is now in the Army, the "firefighter" actually did go through the Fire Explorer program and the "scuba-diving, 'ninja' chef" is actually a Pastry Chef today! *proud mom*

This is my very favorite decorated section. I love the 3-D aspect created with the rosette and fan-fold. SO easy!

Another fun part of decorating the printer's tray was making the cute banner. Just some designer series paper triangles, pieces of ribbon and buttons make for a festive banner strung across the tray.

I also love the spider web that is very sparkly! The photo doesn't show how shiny it is! The spider matches since there is a rhinestone on her back.

Aren't these the most lovely warts you've ever seen on a frog? And check out the sparkle from the button on the top of the tag. I had so much fun putting this tray together. I also look forward to decorating it differently for upcoming holidays!

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great weekend. I'd love to read your comments below!
