Pick A Pumpkin Get Well

I was inspired by Windy Ellard to make this fall card. I turned mine into a Get Well card. I also added the Brick Wall element because I wanted to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the use of my Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper!

This lovely textured and layered card will be going to a special lady who is recovering from surgery. The beauty of Windy's design is that you can use this card for birthdays, anniversaries, congratulations and even Thanksgiving!

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to create your own card using your favorite stamps, inks and tools. Please let me know if I can help you in any way!

Weekly Deals and One Layer Challenge Card

One layer challenge? Yes, Splitcoast Stampers put out this challenge and I don't know why, but I considered answering the challenge. It's titled TLC580 and it is simply, NO LAYERS! This is what I came up with. It was actually quite relaxing to sponge my hearts using the Hearts Decorative Mask and sponge daubers. My card base is Blushing Bride and I used Chocolate Chip and Tip Top Taupe ink pads.

I decided to keep with a love theme and use Real Red ink to stamp my sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.

Happy Thursday! It's time to play at Pals Paper Arts! The challenge was huge for me. I don't do well with several shades of the same color. This is actually my second attempt at the challenge and no one will ever SEE my first attempt!!

I needed a sympathy card. I don't usually have these on hand since I like to make them particular to the person I'll be sending them to. I stamped the floral stem from Peaceful Petals onto Whisper White card stock using Jet Black Stazon. My Blender Pen and pools of ink came in handy for coloring the petals using Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. The stems were colored using Garden Green.

My sentiments came from Thoughts and Prayers. I used my Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Marker to color just the parts of the sentence I wanted for each area of the card.

I added an Elegant Eggplant strip over the flower stem and under the first sentiment for balance. It's cut using the beautiful Finishing Touches Edgelits. Do you think it's balanced? I'm no art student, but it seemed to need something there! The pearls were added because I haven't used pearls in awhile :-)

I hope you enjoyed looking. I enjoy reading comments, so won't you please leave one for me? Don't forget to check out the Design Team cards for this challenge at Pals Paper Arts!

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge! I especially enjoyed the sketch this week because I recently purchased the set of Circles Framelits! Easy peasy when you have a selection of sizes to choose from!

Thoughts and Prayers

It's never easy having to make a sympathy card. So I try and have one on hand at all times. The Thoughts and Prayers Stamp set is one I will probably never vote out of my collection. It's timeless and the sentiments are perfect. They say "Praying for You", "Sharing in your Sorrow", "Thinking of You...Please know that I care.", "Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart.", "Wishing you a quick and complete recovery. GET WELL SOON.", "Sending thoughts of love and praying for the Lord to sustain you with bright and restful days." How versatile is that? A little something for every situation to send comfort and care.

The details on this card are brought to you by the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder, inking the edge of the Scallop Oval Punch with Crumb Cake ink, and one Pearl from Pearl Basics. The last piece I added was a Heart-to-Heart (retired) punched Cherry Cobbler heart.

I'm glad you visited today. Please leave your comments below. I love reading them!

Praying for You

I am really loving this Floral District designer series paper. There are so many options for color combinations and print combinations. I made this sympathy card for a friend whose mom passed away recently.

For the flowering plant, I used one of the stamps from Thoughts & Prayers. I colored it using Stampin' Write Markers and then colored in the teeny middles with a Stampin' Write Marker as well.

The sentiment fits right into the Large Oval punch and I embellished it with tiny Basic Pearls. I framed the oval with an Apothecary Accents Framelit die cut from one of the Floral District prints, which works out perfectly on this shape, I think.

Inside: I don't usually stamp much or decorate the inside of a card, but this card was special. I used the tree image from Thoughts & Prayers and kept it just Lucky Limeade ink, but to keep the subtle color, I stamped it off on a sheet of scrap paper first.

Adding a few mats and layers really helps give a card some weight and a bow to tie it all together really completes this look. Thanks for looking! Please leave me a comment, I LOVE to read them all!

Happy Weekend!

Thoughts and Prayers

Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! is such a sweet suite of images! There are birds, bees, butterflies, plants and flowers with a vintage feel. The colors are Early Espresso, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist and Old Olive. So much you can do with these images!

I used the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers for my sentiment. I stamped it in Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla, then punched it out with my oval punch and matted it with Soft Suede Scallop Oval punch.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation and that you will visit my blog again! I love to read every comment, so please leave one below.
