Artisan Embellishments for the Paper Players

Good morning and welcome to my blog! I was challenged this week by the Paper Players blog theme "Love is the Air." I submit this LOVEly gift tag that I made to decorate a bag with a house warming gift inside! Most of the elements come from the Artisan Embellishments Kit found on pg. 10 (129328 $9.95) of the Spring Catalog. I am so glad I ordered TWO, because I'm almost finished using up my first one! The lace in this kit is heavenly and you won't find it anywhere else! You can make so many different items using this kit--it's very economical.

I began with a Very Vanilla card stock base, which I free-hand cut to look like a tag. I rounded the bottom corners and distressed the edges with a sponge dauber and Chocolate Chip ink.

I added a single rose from the 5/8" Flower Trim. I tied a bow through the button (look closely at the button--there are hearts!) using a piece of the Primrose Petals Seam Binding from the Artisan Embellishments Kit.

There is a Raspberry Ripple dotted scallop border peeking above a snippet of Print Poetry Designer Series Paper from the paper stack. Under that is the final element, Primrose Petals Scalloped Lace that I adorned with pearls.

Here is the bag with the completed tag. It's a brown paper bag that I added some pizzazz to by adding Champagne Glitter stripes across the top. These were just scraps I had kept from other projects cut to fit across the bag.

I hope you enjoyed my Paper Players project and thank you for visiting my blog! Visit the PP blog to see all of the interesting, beautiful and inspiring projects the design team and participants have posted. Maybe you will create with "Love is in the Air" in mind!

PPA58- Pile on the Pearls!

Today at Pals Paper Arts we are challenging YOU with "Pile on the Pearls" which only means you will use pearls in your creation. Simply upload your pearly project by Tuesday, September 7th using a direct link, and you will be eligible to be a Pals Pick and have your card posted on our blog on Wednesday, September 8th. It's that simple!

I used the Rock and Roll technique with the bird stamp from Elements of Style. I inked it first in Pumpkin Pie and then rolled just the edges of the stamp in a circular motion onto the Rose Red ink pad. The results really look different and they match the designer series Sweet and Sour paper exactly!

Use the above photo for a little more inspiration! Isn't she DAH-ling?

Here is a list of what I used to create my card:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie
Designer Series Paper: Sweet and Sour
Stamps: Elements of Style
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red
Extras: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Seam Tape, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch
Techniques: Rock and Roll for the stamped bird image.

PPA 51-Sketch

Pals Paper Arts invites YOU to create a card or scrapbook project by getting inspiration from the above sketch. Our Design Team member, Margaret Moody has put together a "WOW" sketch to get you started. Join the fun!

I finally got to play with my *new* 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog toys! They've been sitting on my desk for over a week. I have been busy and gone on a few trips in the mean time.

I kept it simple due to time constraints, but here is how I made my card:

  • Card Base: Pear Pizzazz (In Color)
  • Strip: Poppy Parade (In Color) punched out easily with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch
  • Square of Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper matted with Peach Parfait (In Color)
  • Sentiment from So Cute stamp set, stamped in Pear Pizzazz onto Whisper White
  • I cut the sentiment and the matte in Peach Parfait free-hand with paper snips
  • I decorated the banner with a button from the Designer Brights Buttons

If you have any questions, please email me. If you would like to order Stampin' Up! quickly and easily, please visit my website.

Thanks for your comments. They are always so encouraging. I love to read them all.
