PPA143-Howling Good Sketch

Another challenge from Pals Paper Arts! I hope you will not only consider playing with us, but that you will actually pick up your supplies and create, using the above sketch by our Design Team member, Margaret Moody as your starting point!

I had a howling good time getting ready for Trick-or-Treat season by using Howlstooth and Scaringbone designer series paper from Stampin' Up's current Mini Catalog. The colors are *so cool* and my favorite pattern is the houndstooth I chose for this card.

Here is a close up of the banner, which I used the Petal Cone Die to cut. Then I centered my sentiment, "Trick or Treat" (which is inked with Tangerine Tango and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers) using the Stampa-ma-Jig to get perfect placement. A couple of score lines using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and I now have a popped-up banner.

Mistakes sometimes happen and here is one time where I made the best of one! When I placed my square of Tangerine Tango card stock onto the die to cut this round mat, one teeny scallop edge did not get rounded! I did not notice this until I had already adhered the cauldron image using Stampin' Dimensionals. So, I quickly snipped each and every scallop, and now I have a brand new shape! I was way too tired to start over again at that point!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I won't be posting much in the coming week, due to our son's wedding, but I hope to be back in my studio soon and posting more cards for you to see and be inspired by!

PPA137-Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge 137! We love to inspire you to create using any products you like! Here, I created a 3-D card that is suitable for giving in person. I will probably use a clear envelope in this case.

You can see that I chose to flip the sketch--perfectly admissible! The sketch is only a starting point!

I used a print from Floral District designer series paper, then layered on another print die cut using the Paper Doily die cut. I matched the card base, ribbon and button knot to the Paper Doily cut out color, Daffodil Delight.

Across the top, I popped out my sentiment from Blessings From Heaven using the banner from Petal Cone Die in my Big Shot.

My flower is made using Rose Red card stock. I Scallop-punched out one base, and three extra punched scallops for the fluffy petals. I scrunched up each of the three extra scallops and opened them several times. Then I folded each one into quarters and used Sticky Strip to adhere each quarter onto 1/3 of the base Scallop circle. After I adhered them, I peeled the layers of each of the mushed up circles to fluff the flower! Easy and fast!

In the middle of my flower, I used the new Vintage Faceted Buttons, adhering it with Mini Glue Dots. On top of the button, I added a teeny knot of 1/8" Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon.

Under my fluffy flower, I used two strips of 5/8" Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon to look like a ribbon award.

I hope you enjoyed looking and that you are inspired to create your own card, scrapbook page, book mark or anything else using paper! I would LOVE to read your comments!

Pink Birthday

This is the card I made for my niece for her birthday. It took a lot of work, but I was so happy with the results. I copied it from Stampin' Up's 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. Isn't it festive?

Here is a close up of the "flags" which were made from skewers I had in my kitchen!

Here is a list of other supplies I used:

Card Stock: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Pennant Parade, Fabulous Phrases
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo
Extras: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Die, Petal Cone Die, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Baker's Twine in Whisper White, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you for leaving comments. I love to read them and I try to answer each one.

Here is what we made at my workshop last night. We had so much fun and I had a great group of ladies who know what they are doing and enjoyed playing with some of our new tools and the Filled With Love promotion items.

My card is an original design that I came up with while playing with the banner from our new Petal Cone Bigz Die. I scored it at 1" and 1.5", then turned it and scored at 1" and 1.5" again. Stamp the sentiment in the middle (some of us used the Stampa-ma-jig for perfect placement) and pop the banner up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Scallop Trim Border punched accent behind the banner is done in Brushed Silver, so there is Glimmer from the red heart and Shimmer from the paper!

For this "sweet" box, we wrapped chocolate nuggets with 1" x 3" pieces of Love Impressions Specialty Designer Series Pack and then decorated it using two of the stamps from Filled With Love. The tag is made by stamping the "LOVE" sentiment in Real Red, then using Stampin' Write markers to color the Feb 14 in Real Red and Basic Black. Cut the "O" out using the 1" punch and you have what looks like those tags that are bordered with silver, but you made your own. You can stamp the "LOVE" in any color and have a border for small stamps. The box and the Basic Black cut out are form the Bigz Matchbox Die, which is new for me and I am LOVING it. Why didn't I get this earlier??

Thanks for visiting. I love your comments, so please leave one below. Have you signed up to receive my posts every day? It's the easy way to see my creations!
