Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge! I had fun really getting creative this week, and you can, too! Just make a card using the sketch above, any products you like and then upload it to the PPA site! You will be amazed by the Team's offerings, and that of the participants.

I took the sketch and used the basic elements of it (rectangles, mostly) and then added some buttons and rhinestones off in the corner. I jazzed up the middle panel by die-cutting a banner from Kaleidescope DSP and framing it with Whisper White card stock. There was just enough room for the "enjoy" stamp. My friend is turning 40, so I die-cut the 4 and 0 using the retired Timeless Type dies. I adhered them to a Starburst die cut and added a Bermuda Bay bow. So pretty! I love the festive colors in this DSP.

You can see photos of the products I used below, and clicking on them will take you right to my Online Store to order. The Decorative Dots Embossing Folder has $00.00 as a price because you can earn it *FREE* during Sale-A-Bration, which begins Tuesday, January 28th.

Thank you for looking today! I hope you are inspired. I love to read your comments :-)

Epic Day This and That Journal Meeting Cora

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Here are the first two pages of Cora's Journal. This is meant to be something she can read when she is older. Inside the cover, I just adhered a piece of This and That Epic Day designer series paper. "Meeting Cora" was done in Calypso Coral card stock using the Big Shot and Timeless Type dies. The photo is from the first day Grandma and Grandpa met Cora, which was July 2nd. She was born June 27th, so I have both of those dates recorded on the page. The page already had another pattern from Epic Day This and That DSP, so I only had to adhere a photo and embellish. SO quick!

Please come by again soon to see what the next pages hold! I'm gathering information for further pages as you read. I'm still visiting Cora, now 3-1/2 months old! I'm having too much fun!

Clearance Rack and Fun Shape for Baby Kate

New items added to the Clearance Rack!  Click Here to check them out!

Don't you just *LOVE* when a baby is born? I learned that a friend of my son's welcomed Baby Kate into his family last week. I wanted to make this fun shape, called a "twisted card", so I got right onto it! I will give the basic instructions at the end of this post, but I warn you, I have no instructions for adding the printed designer paper- I just DID IT. Also, the card does NOT fit into a standard A2 envelope, so I used my Diagonal Plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create a custom, printed envelope.

As you can see, there is a pocket on the front if you should want to tuck a gift card or some other fun things inside. I decorated the edge with some pom pom trim from the fabric store.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment and I will write on the larger back piece.

This is the back of the card.

Here is a close up of the sweet heart that I embellished with pearls. So girly!
Thanks for looking--I'd love to read your comments!

Basic Instructions for the Twisted Card:
Score a 4-1/2 by 11" piece of card stock directly down the middle from one corner to the other corner. I used my Diagonal Plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Fold the card stock on the scored line. Keep it folded and score vertically in half. Fold. Use a Bone Folder to really crease the lines.

Decorate as desired.

Twisted Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack
Stamps: It's a Wrap Occasions
Ink:  Pretty In Pink
Big Shot: Embosslits Heart of Hearts, Timeless Type Alphabet
Punches: Full Heart
Embellishments: Basic Pearls, Pom Pom Trim (non-Stampin' Up!)

What Would YOU Choose? And A Prize!

Hi Everyone! I'm glad to be back from a nice, relaxing weekend. I wanted to show you what you could earn with Hostess Benefits! My last hostess chose the Bigz Lattice Die and a package of Stampin' Dimensionals for her free merchandise. Because of Sale-A-Bration, she also earned 2 packages of In Color 8-1/2" x 11" paper, a package of Everyday Enchantment Designer paper AND the bonus reusable shopping tote!

Here you can see a closeup of the tag I made using the Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder and the Timeless Type Medium Sizzlits Dies and my Big Shot. I used scraps of random colored card stock for my letters. (I only wrapped up the Hostess gifts, not the Sale-A-Bration paper.)

So, my question is, "What would YOU choose with YOUR $25 hostess dollars?" I will pick a random comment TO THIS POST ONLY with an answer to my question. All comments are due by Friday, February 23rd. I will post the winner of the Sale-A-Bration Brights Designer Buttons on Page 9 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure on Saturday, February 24th. The posted winner has until Monday, February 26th to email me their address. ONE comment (with question answered) only, U.S. addresses only.

Don't forget to leave your answer to my question in the comment box! Good luck to everyone!

Valentine Treats Without Sugar

I always remember my little neighbor girls with a sweet treat for holidays. I try to stay away from candy because I'm sure they get enough of that! This Valentine's Day, they will be getting these cute little bottles of hand sanitizer that I got for $1. Add a home made tag, and you have a *sweet* gift that won't send them to the dentist!

Don't forget to leave a comment - I like to read them all.

There is still time to "play" at Pals Paper Arts! Check out all of the submissions so far and be inspired to create and upload your own!
