Birthday Stars for PPA283

This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is simply to use the colors Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo and Basic Black, or other colors that are close to these. 

So many stars! I am disappointed in how my photo doesn't show the embossed stars on the Basic Black bottom panel :-(

I wanted to tie all of my elements together for the "star" theme on my Whisper White note card.

This photo is a bit better. I do need a new camera. I've been having difficulty with it. I hope you enjoyed seeing my creation. If you are inspired, you can play along at Pals Paper Arts!

Thank You in Silver Pacific Red for PPA259

 Another week, another challenge. Will you participate? Pals Paper Arts challenges YOU to create something with paper and use the colors above. The colors are just a starting point to inspire you! I didn't use Silver Foil, but used Silver Glimmer Paper instead. 

I needed a card to thank and encourage a military wife friend of mine whose husband is deployed to Afghanistan for six months. He's only one month into the deployment, but her attitude is supportive and calm. That is the perfect way to support a soldier! The troops need to know you can handle the home front because they have their life and the life of others on the line while overseas. The military family at home needs lots of support and encouragement so they don't need burden their deployed loved one with every day problems. (I'm talking plumbing problems, flat tires and the like).

 I also decided to use Red Glimmer paper to add even more sparkle. Here you can see my Stampin' Write Marker coloring in Real Red. Didn't mean for anyone to look that closely!!

Red, White and Blue

 This is a gift card holder suitable for a birthday near our celebration of Independence Day. I turned the stamp from You're So Sweet so my "hello" would be more vertical than horizontal. Isn't that clever? Well, not really because I really didn't notice which way it was displayed in the catalog :-)

 

Inside the image, I placed a Tempting Turquoise Medium Star (created with the Medium Star Punch) and then threw a line of Rhinestones across the middle for interest. My square is rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder.  A bit of Tempting Turquoise Baker's Twine holds the tag onto the Silver 1/8" ribbon. (Twine leftover from a Paper Pumpkin from long ago).

My bag is made from Glassine Paper and the Mini Treat Bag Framelits and Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added a piece of Real Red card stock, whose upper edge was cut using the Mini Treat Bag Framelits also.

New Adventures

Our son moved out of state a couple of weeks ago. I wanted one of my hand made cards to be the first thing he received in his new place. (The post office had other ideas, and it still hasn't arrived or been sent back). 

I think it's brave to move to a new state where you don't know a soul, to a new job that requires some training. There is so much uncertainty and I know he's up for the challenge. That's worth celebrating!
