Big Congratulations, Graduate!

Today's card is my last graduation card of the season. I began by finding inspiration from Jo Anne Hewins. I didn't have the same sentiment, so the "congratulations" part is my own. 

Black, White and Sparkles look pretty festive and cutting out all of the elements was easy using my Big Shot, Dies and a punch. I popped up the balloons, numbers and banner over the spectacular Softly Falling background.

Congrats to the Graduate in Black and White with Gold!

It's amazing how fast kids grow up! This card is for a friend that I used to scrap book with. When I started her three boys were not all in grade school, even! Now her oldest is graduating. I wanted something very classy and okay for a guy, so instead of doing school colors, I thought of black and white with gold. Fortunately, Stampin Up! has so many coordinating products to help me shine up this card!

I popped up the numbers and the "congrats" banner. This paper is so shiny that you don't need much more to glitz it up. I chose the subtle Natural Trim Ribbon with a gold thread that runs through the center.

#4 Special Girl Birthday

Another pair of similar cards, if you saw yesterday's post. Our granddaughter turns 4 this month and I've used pretty much the same layout as the 2 year old card I made for our grandson. Their birthdays are only 2 days apart.

Our granddaughter can read numbers and letters, so of course I wanted to put a large "4" onto the card. I used the bright Daffodil Delight card stock and cut it out using the Large Numbers Framelits. She will enjoy recognizing her new age when she opens this card. That cute balloon is from the Party Animal Embellishments (now retired).  The banner behind the number was cut out and stamped with a teeny image from the Paper Pumpkin (May 2017) stamp set called Sprinkled with Love.

Happy 21st Birthday

This card was made for our nephew, who turned 21 this week. I wanted something simple and classy so I used Black, White and Gold Foil. I created a shadow for the "21" by also cutting it in black and then placing it just off of the Gold Foil numbers.

The theme stays festive inside where I used Gold Embossing Powder and the "Celebrate" stamp from the Here's to Cheers stamp set.

Happy 30th With Balloon Celebration

A very special lady in our lives is turning 30 and I made this card to match her gift. I used the Number of Years and Balloon Celebration stamp sets. My colors were Smoky Slate, Pink Pirouette and Tip Top Taupe. I was inspired by another stamper, but I cannot remember who it was--so sorry!

For a little bling, I added sequins from the Fancy Frost and Metallics collections. My card base is Thick Whisper White because of all the layers on the front of the card.

It All Started With a Baby's 1st Birthday Card!

I made a Baby's 1st Birthday card.  (I gave it away before I could take any photos). I liked it so much that I made a 13th Birthday card. And then I went for the 30th Birthday card! Why not? I  worked so hard to design the layout and then I really liked it, why not make more? All of my August birthday cards are now finished and I'm very happy! 

I just changed up the color schemes and I could make these all day long. No designer paper, just colors to choose from. I love that festive balloon--good for any age!

Look Who's Turning 15!

Our nephew turned 15 last week and I made this card to put a gift card into. It's pretty simple, but festive. I used Number of Years stamps and the matching Large Number framelits. On the Confetti embossed card stock, I added some marker dots and I also colored the stars to make them stand out. My card base is Basic Black, which makes the Crushed Curry frame stand out all the more.

3rd Birthday Ice Cream Card

Thanks for coming back to see our granddaughter's 3rd birthday card, designed to go with hers and her brother's Ice Cream party theme. (See our grandson's 1st Birthday card here).

This card began with using a Decorative Dots embossed Oval cut out that was sitting on my desk leftover from another card. I added the "3" from Number of Years stamp set, perfectly cut out using the Large Numbers Framelits. Three teeny ice cream cones were snipped out from the retired Birthday Bouquet designer series paper. I popped them up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a new Mint Macaron Sheer Linen ribbon bow and now my card is ready to take to the party.

Happy 70th!

I really like today's card, and I hope you do, too! I CASEd it from Chantal De Kaste. The only thing I changed was the number-- I needed it to be 70. My friend already received her card and she LOVED it, too! The Number of Years stamp set is already one of my favorites. It came out in the Occasions Catalog. I love that you can stamp and cut the letters using the matching framelits, OR you can simply cut out the numbers and use those. Cutting them from plain colored card stock or designer series paper gives you so many options.

Here is a close up of my details. I added the rhinestones because the lady who got this card is special! I also added the "th." I love that the set includes this little detail.

I don't know why, but this week's sketch challenge by Beth Beard at Pals Paper Arts made me think of big numbers! My husband and his twin brother are turning 60 this year. Their birthday is not until July, but I will be busy planning a party, so I am happy to get their cards made early!

What a Year!

My sister was born in 1964. I remember when my parents brought her home. I was so excited! She was born the night the Beatles made their US television premiere on the Ed Sullivan Show. The doctors and nurses were very busy trying to catch a glimpse of the show, but unfortunately missed most of it because that is when my sister chose to enter the world!

I made this card for her birthday this year using the Number of Years photopolymer stamp set. I love this set! It's going to be so much fun using the numbers for custom cards. Now we need a set of letters just as big with framelits to match! I used the banner from the same set to write my own message, but the stamp set comes with plenty of words to put into the banner if you choose.

• Card Base: Island Indigo card stock cut to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  Use Large Polka Dot TIEF to emboss front. Set aside. (I apologize that the photo doesn't show the embossing very well. I'm working on getting a new camera!)

• Whisper White card stock rectangle: stamp numbers using Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Island Indigo and Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pads.

• Cut Basic Black card stock to matt Whisper White piece.

• Add Boho Blossoms flower using matching card stock scraps. Adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals.

• Stamp banner using Basic Black ink. Write or stamp your greeting inside the banner.

• Adhere banner using Stampin' Dimensionals.

• Adhere rectangle to the center of the card base. Make recipient smile when you give this card!

First try with "From the Heart Theme"

This is the first card I created with a little different theme than suggested. I still have "hearts" but they relate to a wedding anniversary. I have friends who have a February 14th wedding anniversary! They deserve a special card! In my descriptions, you will see our newest products in italics.

Helpful Tips: 

• I changed up my Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper by using my Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker to color in the hearts and dots on the paper.
• I turned the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper over to the back side to trim and punch it. It's much easier to get the cut perfect.
• The heart image from Bloomin' Love was stamped onto Cherry Cobbler card stock using VersaMark. I heat embossed it using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and hand snipped the heart.
• The banner stamp that says 'anniversary' is from Number of Years stamp set. That means if you own Bloomin' Love and Number of Years stamp sets, you will have TWO banners you can cut out using the Large Number Framelits!

My favorite of the two. Which one do YOU like?

I couldn't stop with one card. This card varies in color, but also in the elements' placement on the card. My background is simpler, but made special with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I actually like this card better, but the photo shows the other one better, I think.
