Birthday Jar

Hi Everyone! I've been taking it easy this past 10 days, but I'm back! I decorated this jar full of my home made granola for a friend's birthday. I try and make some sort of goodie for each of my best friends for their birthday. I began with one of the Framelits Labels, die cut in Melon Mambo, then run through the Lines Embossing Folder.

Next, I added some Scallop Circle punches from First Edition Designer Series Ppaer. I scrunched them up and put them together using an Antique Brad. I tied on a Jewelry Tag, with Melon Mambo-stamped "4 You" using Linen Thread. I also tied on a snippet of Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon. This photo makes the jar look small, but it is about twice the size of a regular baby food jar.

The words "homemade granola" are written on a Modern Label punched out in Baja Breeze.

Thanks for looking! I hope you will leave your comments below--I love reading them!

PPA139 Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge! Our Pal, Margaret Moody has a great sketch for us to use this time. I loved working with it! I hope you will be inspired to use it to create, too! Don't forget to see what the entire Design Team has done at Pals Paper Arts!

I used the a la carte stamp "Two By Two" to begin this card. I used my best water coloring skills to make it colorful. I'm not a pro at water coloring, but this little sketch makes it pretty easy. If you never knew that giraffes were Pumpkin Pie-colored, now you do!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you will leave a comment below!

Love & Laughter - Three Views

More wedding wishes are on their way! I used some extras from this post, because whenever I emboss, I always emboss several images on different colored card stock just in case I don't like the one that I had the idea with. It does take a bit of effort and extra tools to emboss, so you might as well make it worth it!

This time, I kept the Pool Party and Island Indigo theme and added So Saffron. I love how it turned out!

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: So Saffron, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Stamps: Love & Laughter, Fabulous Phrases
Designer Series Paper: '11 - '13 In Color Patterns
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Island Indigo Classic Ink
Big Shot: Floral Fusion Die, Framelits Labels Collection
Punches: Word Window, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Small Heart
Adhesives: Snail, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

The second card used Island Indigo for the dress and flower accents, and I chose a Gumball Green accent using Adorning Accents Edgelits and embossing folders. The other Gumball Green accent is the 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon.

Of course I had to add a bit of *bling* on those cute little flowers that were punched using Itty Bitty Shapes punch set.

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Island Indigo
Stamp Set: Love & Laughter
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink
Big Shot: Adorning Accents Edgelits and Embossing Folders
Punches: Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Embellishments: 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Gumball Green, Basic Rhinestones
Adhesives: Snail, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

This is my favorite! I used some Whisper White taffeta ribbon and Basic Pearls to glam this dress up! I love how it makes it look. I added So Saffron to the Pool Party this time. The sentiment is from Love & Laughter.

Here is a close up. I had to pop the dress up on TWO Stampin' Dimensionals to accommodate the ruffle. I kept the pearls just along the edge of the cut out wedding dress and across the waistline. *Dreamy*

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White
Stamps: Love & Laughter
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Pool Party
Big Shot: Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
Punches: Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Embellishments: Basic Pearls, 3/8" Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon
Adhesives: Snail, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

So, which card do YOU like best?

It's A Wrap Bridal Shower

I went to a Bridal Shower/Spa Day last weekend. It was heavenly! I thought a great gift for the bride-to-be would be a little continuation in pampering. I filled a Longaberger Basket with soft slippers, slipper socks, a pedicure kit, spa cap, a jazz CD, candles and a gift certificate for See's chocolates. The only thing I didn't include was the "Do Not Disturb" sign for the bathroom door!

Here is the tag I made using the It's A Wrap Occasions stamp set and Small heart glitter punch-outs.

A close up of how I added a bit of bridal *bling* to the tag.

I used Pool Party 3/8" ruffled ribbon and 5/8" Crochet Trim to tie the tag.

Since the card embellishments went past the edge of the card, I presented it in a clear bag that was folded in half. The ribbon was neatly tucked around the back.

I used White Craft Ink and White Stampin' Emboss powder for the wedding dress stamp from Love & Laughter. I love this stamp set. It is going to be used a lot, I can tell!

I didn't want to neglect the inside of the card, so I used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits to die cut around my sentiment. I punched out the hearts (stamped in Island Indigo onto Pool Party card stock) from Love & Laughter to each side.

To gather the ends of the 5/8" Whisper White organza ribbon, I made my own flower/brad. I used Floral Fusion die in the big shot to die cut a Whisper White small and a Pool Party (Patterns DSP) medium flower. In the center I used a (retired) brad from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. The sentiment "forever" is a Fabulous Phrases stamp inked in Pool Party and die cut with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I hope you were inspired by my bridal shower project. Please leave your comments as I love to read each one.

Denim and Diamonds Congratulations!

Hello! Lots of folks will be graduating this month and next, so I thought I'd show you one of the cards I made for a friend who is graduating from college. I used school colors, of course, and some of the sneak peek products from the upcoming 2012 Catalog.

I love how the denim ribbon looks against both the Night of Navy and the Tangerine Tango designer paper. I added the "diamonds" as a dressy contrast to the casual ribbon.

Now for those new products! I love this sentiment from Layered Labels. There are four labels in the set, each elegant and luscious in their own right! You can see that I have used the new Apothecary Framelits to precisely cut around the stamped image! The second of the four Framelits was used with the striped Tangerine Tango designer paper to add some contrast. I LOVE these shapes! You will be able to order these stamps and Framelits June 1st.

Graduation Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
Designer Series Paper: Brights Patterns
Stamps: Layered Labels (Available June 1st)
Ink: Tangerine Tango
Big Shot: Framelits "Apothecary Accents" (available June 1st)
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Navy Denim ribbon
Adhesives: Snail, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Oh, Baby! It's time for the Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are sharing some fabulous cards and projects for babies and children that we think you'll enjoy! Here is the card I made for a baby boy. This card will be sent to North Carolina with a hand made baby quilt for a boy recently born to a very special family.
I got my instructions from Christy Lee at Tinker With Ink. I used the Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper and the Framelits Labels die cut in my Big Shot. It took a few tries for me to get the "formula" right, but it was worth it!

Quick and Easy Easter

If you are looking for a last-minute Easter greeting idea, this card is quick and easy! I hope you enjoy it and will leave your comments below. You could use any card stock color for an accent, and even use any die cut shape you like.

I used the stamp set Crosses of Hope. I shadow-stamped by using two different shades of purple to stamp my cross image. I used Wisteria Wonder underneath Concord Crush. Then I added some sparkle to the cross in celebration of *new* life by using the Basic Rhinestones that come in a line, cutting them to the length needed for this cross shape.

You can see how I added dimension to my card by popping up the Framed Tulip border and the cross image that is stamped onto a Framelits Label die cut and then matted with a larger Label size in Concord Crush.

I hope you have a blessed day on Easter!

Easter Cross Card:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Concord Crush
Stamps: Crosses of Hope
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush
Big Shot: Framelits Labels, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones
Adhesives: Snail, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Pals February Blog Hop-- Sale-A-Bration and Occasions Mini

It's time for the the Stampin' Pretty Pals share some fabulous cards and projects featuring Stampin' Up's Occasions Mini and Sale-A-Bration products on today's Pals Blog Hop!

You've probably hopped over from Julie Trevitt Smith's blog, The Stampin' Affair, I'm stop number 16 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for paper projects showcasing Stampin' Up's Occasions Mini and Sale-A
-Bration products from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track. All of the items I used from the Occasions Mini are noted in the descriptions in BOLD.

This Joy Fold card was ultra fun to make. I used the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper to accent the Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette card stock. The new Framelits Labels Collection perfectly frames the stamped images from the Apothecary Art
stamp set. All of these items are highlighted in the Occasions Mini catalog.

Here are close ups of the stamped image and the way the card opens. I colored the label image with Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen with ink from the Stampin' Pad. Don't you just adore these petite Twitterpated Designer Buttons? I accented them with Basic Pearls and Whisper White Baker's Twine. Can you see the inside edge decorated with the ultra silky 3/8" Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon?

This super cute Box in a Bag starts out with the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper, which you can earn with Hostess Dollars when you have a Workshop. The colors in this paper are Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Lucky Limeade. I chose to bring out the Melon Mambo, then used the *new* Large Sizzlits Paper Doily Die in Pear Pizzazz (the background color of this print from the DSP) from the Occasions Mini. Isn't it beautiful? There are SO many ways to use this doily. You can snip off the outer edges for a completely different shape and size. Or layer the doily sizes in different colors. It's also exquisite when cut out in Whisper White. The stamped sentiment is from P. S. I Love You stamp set, also from the Occasions Mini.
