Vintage Roses and Weekly Deals

The focal point of this card is the beautiful vintage roses laser cut element from the Artisan Embellishment Kit in the Occasions Catalog. The velvet ribbon is also from the kit! I love how it makes the card.

Here you can see that I made the laser cut a bit more special by daubing on some Champagne Mist to make it sparkle like the Brushed Gold card stock that is my card base. The dramatic effect against the Blackberry Bliss card stock is what makes this card special. My sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners. I stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut it out. Small Basic Pearls accent the edges.

Bonus: I get to use this scrap that I put under the laser cut when I daubed on the gold paint. I wonder what I will use it for?

Thanks for looking! Please leave your comments. I love to read them all.

Baby Bumblebee--So Sweet!

Baby Bumblebee is single stamp from the Occasions Catalog. You can do so much with it, though! You can stamp just the image by isolating it, or just the sentiment doing the same. Here I stamped it as is. Then I colored it using my *free* Daffodil Delight Blendabilities pens. I shaded the bee from left to right (dark to light) and then used the lightest color in the set of three to sort of scribble in the wings for some color. I used my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker for the face. Isn't he sweet? I say "he" because I'm giving this card with a baby boy shower gift.

To make the card special, I used a sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners. I stamped it in Black Stazon and cut it out using my Big Shot and the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I added a loop of Basic Black Chevron Ribbon, tied that up with a piece of White Baker's Twine, then used a mini clip to attach the banner.

My background is special because I used the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder to give my Basic Black matt some dimension. The Whisper White Circle Framelit with the stamped image is framed with a Crushed Curry Starburst Framelit to match the card base.

Ready With Thanks

This card is embellished with a snowflake from Frosted Sequins.

These first five card designs were whipped up in my studio so fast! I used the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack from the Holiday Catalog, some "thank you" themed stamp sets and a few embellishments. Each set of four cards went to a Facebook friend who had "signed up" with me at the beginning of the year for a Pay It Forward campaign. I'm hoping the recipients could use a few Thank You cards around Christmas time!

This simple beauty has a chevron piece from Essentials Wooden Elements.

This card features Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon.

I used the snowflake from Snowflake Card Thinlits Die and a Full Heart Punch to trim this sweater print.

This card has a Star Thinlit cut from Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I added Linen Thread, a neutral Designer Button and "thank you" punched with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

This last card is special. My friend, Jacquelyn showed us how to make this during our mountain cabin getaway I mentioned yesterday. A simple, yet beautiful way to say "thank you!"

I hope you enjoyed looking and that you will leave a comment below.

December Pals Blog Hop 2014 - Trio of Tags

Welcome to the last Pals Blog Hop of 2014. This month we want to help you start your holiday wish list by sharing projects featuring our favorite Stampin' Up! papers, stamps, tools and accessories. Get your wish list ready as you move along through the blog hop.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Debbie Mageed at Secret Stamper.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all of the projects.

I made these tags using my #1 favorite tool: my Big Shot! I cannot do without it!

On all three tags I used the Big Shot and Bitty Banners Framelits to say "For You." All tag bases are cut from All Is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper. My embellishments and heat embossing make this tag sparkle.

This tag gets it's main focus from the Snowflake Card Thinlit. I cut the tree from the set from our Silver Foil paper. I added a Basic Rhinestone garland to decorate my tree.

The third tag is the largest. My tag is decorated using a Vellum Snowflake from Snowflake Card Thinlits. The circle has a silver embossed snowflake from the Cheerful Tags stamp set.

Don't be fooled, my list of favorites is very long, and as you can see, I like embellishments and ribbon, too!

I hope you enjoyed my tags. Please leave your comments below. They keep me going!

The next stop is Nancy Gleason at My Stampin' Space. Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you in 2015!

Creative Crew Challenge #4

My last Creative Crew Challenge was to make a calendar, to-do list, booklet or journal for a friend to use in 2014.

I didn't have any ideas on those things, but I thought a friend might use some Christmas tags THIS season. So I created this box using the Envelope Board Punch and made a set of tags.

One set is traditional colors and uses the retired Stocking Builder Punch and stamp set. The other set uses the current Winter Frost Specialty DSP colors and a lot of bling!

Here is the full gallery of this challenge: CCREW1213CF

I sure have enjoyed my time with the Creative Crew. I will be sure and check out their challenges more often in 2014. I hope you have been inspired like I have by their monthly challenges!

PPA Sketch Challenge - Join Us!

Happy Thursday! I was apprehensive about this sketch, but once I figured out how to get the angles easily, it was fun and a snap! I simply cut TWO full sized pieces of Epic Day This and That designer series paper to fit above the strip of Epic Day This and That Washi Tape. Next, I placed the light colored one on top of the blue one and noted with a pencil where I wanted my left (2 marks) and right (1 mark) and bottom right (1 mark) ends to stop. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was easier than I thought it would be!

Lastly, I thought I needed some dimension at those angles, so I used my Paper Piercing Tool and the Essentials Paper Piercing template for the lines.

I chose to use Happy Birthday from the Itty Bitty Banners (stamped in Baked Brown Sugar) and then easily and perfectly cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits in my Big Shot. The Candy Dots below just add a little more texture to my card.

Whaddya think? I am happy with the results! I hope you will be inspired and will create your own card using our sketch as a starting point. Please leave your comments below, I LOVE to read them all!

PPA173 Thank You

Hi! It's not too late to use the above sketch to play along with us at Pals Paper Arts! This week's team has a lot of inspirational photos, just check them out and create your own. Upload and you are playing!

I have always wanted to try sewing on paper. My two favorite crafts are making things out of fabric and making things out of paper. However, I think this card will have my one and only attempt! I did not like the feel or sound of the needle in the paper. The thread didn't really look good on it, either. When I see other people's paper sewing, I like it. I didn't like doing it and I'm not liking the result. But I think since there is so little stitching on this card, it's just okay. You never know until you try!

I hope you will play along with us at Pals Paper Arts!

For You--Retiring Accessories

Happy Friday! Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago and then had some friends come over and make one for themselves! The International Bazaar Designer Series paper that I used is retiring in a matter of days! If you love all of the different colors and patterns in this pack like I do, you will want to snap up a pack for yourself while it is 25% off! (126920 $8.21 while supplies last)

You can see that I scrunched up my Tea Lace Paper Doily (making it smaller) to matt this "flower" made from several sizes and colors of Scallop Circle-punched card stock. After punching the scallops, I wrinkled each one up over and over until the fibers in the paper were broken. Then I easily peeled the layers of paper apart and the result is a suede-like "flower." I secured the layers with a Designer Printed Brad, which is not in the new catalog :(

Don't forget to order soon for all of the retiring accessories--they are while supplies last. Retiring stamps can be ordered up through June 3rd.

I'd love your comments on my card :-)

For You Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: International Bazaar
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Calypso Coral
Punches: 3/4", 1-3/4" and 2-3/8" Scallop Circles
Embellishments: Tea Lace Paper Doily, Designer Printed Brad

Rock and Roll Birthday

Happy Birthday is always a fun reason to make a card. A couple of special ladies in my life have birthdays coming up and I wanted to try out these colors. My inspiration for these colors was a stage backdrop I saw during a worship service a few weeks ago!

On the above card, I tried the "Rock and Roll" technique with the large round image from Betsy's Blossoms. First I inked the image in Calypso Coral, then tried to only re-ink the edges by using a circular motion and Rich Razzleberry ink. The stamp sort of slipped in my hand and the edge wasn't evenly inked in Rich Razzleberry, but that's okay! It looks very artsy! I punched it out using the 2-1/2" circle punch.

Then I added another image from the set inked in Cherry Cobbler. I punched it out with the 1" circle punch and accented it with a Tangerine Tango button from Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack. The button has a Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine bow tied through it's holes. Lastly, my stem is stamped onto the card using Cherry Cobbler ink. I stamped the same stem in Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry, then snipped out a few of the leaves to glue over the Cherry Cobbler ones.

The second card is much the same, but my rock and roll technique looks a little more "perfect" or neat. When I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners onto the card, I didn't realize it was going to be on top of the stem. The dark ink of the stem didn't let my sentiment show very well, so I saved my card by stamping the sentiment again on a scrap piece of Whisper White, then snipped it out and glued it over the original. Saved!

Here is a close up of the "flower" I created. I hope you enjoyed looking and I'd love to read your comments!

No, this isn't a card for my sister, it's THE sister card to yesterday's PPA Challenge. Meaning, I made two versions of this layout, one more masculine and today's more feminine. Itty Bitty PPA Color Challenge

Hi! It's Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge time and YOU are invited to make a card, scrapbook page or project using the above colors! Be creative, inventive and take a leap! We always have three "picks" that are showcased on our site, so please join us!

The focus on this card is the center panel. I framed it with the Finishing Touches Edgelits in Riding Hood Red.

They match the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and perfectly frame the snipped and punched images from Pennant Parade stamp set. I popped up some stars from the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set.

The sentiment is stamped in Riding Hood Red from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope to see your submissions at the PPA site. If you need any Stampin' Up! to complete your projects, please use my Website to order.
