Tin of Cards Thank You

I love this card! So simple, almost one layer and very lovely all at the same time. I CASEd this card, but unfortunately, I did not note the designer's name :-(  My apologies!

Timeless Textures stamp set provides my flat "texture." I used the Watermelon Wonder ink on Watermelon Wonder card stock, then accented with some Tip Top Taupe blotches, etc. to match the ink color on the sentiment.

Thank you so much for looking! I hope you will take a little time to comment. I love reading those comments!

Graduation Pinkness

My oldest niece is graduation from high school today! Way to go! I made this card for her and it was inspired by the gift below. I used one of my favorite stamp sets from last year--"Tin of Cards." It's a real keeper and I use it often.

Gold Embossing Powder and Gold Foil Doilies lend a classy element to the bright Melon Mambo card stock. I added some Metallic Sequins and embossed hearts for good measure.

And here is the gift that inspired all those gold elements. The Kate Spade pencil bag will hold this lovely dotted Mini Treat Bag. I used the retired Fancy Gold Vellum to layer over the Melon Mambo. It really mutes the color a lot. More gold with the Bow Clip and Embossed tag from "You're So Sweet." The money and holder were placed inside the dotted bag and then put into the gift bag below. I love the layers and layers that make a gift seem all the more special.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my special card and gift. If you need Stampin' Up! supplies to make your creations, just use my Online Store. I'd love to be your demonstrator.

March Customer Thank You Card

This is my March "thank you" card for all orders that my customers place! Isn't it fun? I CASED it from a card Kimberly at Stampin' by the Sea.

Kimberly used a different animal print from Go Wild DSP Stack and her accent color was an orange and her animal from Zoo Babies was the giraffe. Her doily was a Tea Lace Doily. I used Zebra print from the paper stack, so I made my zebra image Melon Mambo and then used the coordinating card stock on my card. The star and stripe patterns are from the It's My Party DSP stack.  I used the Metallic Foil Doily in silver to coordinate with the strip of negative stars that I cut from Basic Gray using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I also used different shapes for my zebra "tag."

I hope you liked looking at my card today. Won't you please leave me a comment? I love to read them!

Happy Birthday Sketch for PPA290

It's my sketch that the Pals Paper Arts Challenge is based on this week! Even though I submitted this sketch, I didn't immediately know what I was going to do. And, I couldn't seem to place that circle in the same exact spot as the sketch, even though I tried twice! That just proves that the sketch is a starting point and may lead to other ways of placing your elements!

I wanted to make the vertical line shiny like the rest of the card (shimmery card stock and embossing powder), so I used 3 strands of Silver Metallic Thread and knotted them under the square element. My sentiment and those stars are inked in VersaMark and heat embossed with Black and White Embossing powder. The "v" design on the Shine On Specialty Designer Series paper also shines.

Thank you for stopping by this week. I hope you are inspired and that you will join us at Pals Paper Arts and create a card using my sketch!

I love reading your comments, so please leave me one! Use my Online Store any time you need Stampin' Up! products.

Wedding Shower Tag

Wedding Shower Gift Tag
I went to a wedding shower last weekend and I created a tag for my gift using the Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Die and Gold Foil Paper. My Hearts Collection Framelits (retired) perfectly cut a heart background from Blushing Bride (appropriate name!) Glimmer Paper.

Close up showing shiny foil and sparkly Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper
The Pink Pearls, string of pearls, sequins and Blushing Bride Satin Ribbon come from the Love Blossoms Embellishments Kit. The sentiment is from Tin of Cards and is embossed using White Embossing Powder. The heart shape is cut using the heart from Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.

The tissue is really gold, but shows yellow in the photo.
Here is how the tag looked on the bag. Sorry, the bag doesn't fit into my light box for a better photo!

This is a photo of the bouquet that will be used for the rehearsal.  (You can see my tag peeking out underneath). All of the bows and tissue paper from the shower gifts were carefully put together. Isn't it lovely?

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you will come back soon. I hope you leave a comment for me--I love to read each one!

NEW YEAR, New LOOK for Pals Paper Arts! #282

Welcome to the NEW YEAR with Pals Paper Arts' NEW LOOK! Our Design Team members worked to create a new look for our blog and for the Sketches and Color Challenge icons.

Also, each sketch or color challenge will have a "host" and you will learn a little bit about how we come up with our ideas and perhaps a little about our individual styles. I hope you will enjoy the individual attention to each of the designers on this team that I have been privileged to be on for as long as the PPA has been around!

This week's sketch is by our fearless leader, Mary Fish. Mary is a creative business leader, but she's also a friend and she encourages and inspires her Design Team and her stamping group, The Pals. I am so happy I bought my starter kit through Mary in 2009. Little did I know I would be blogging a few weeks later and growing a business doing something I LOVE.

You will also notice a new "badge" on my sidebar. A total re-do of our "brand."  Now for my card:

After the holidays, I needed to make some quick but cute thank you cards. I also had a lot to clean up in my craft room, as my grandchildren took over the space while they stayed here for two weeks :)  My new items that I ordered a month ago (from the new Occasions Catalog) were buried somewhere and I couldn't get to them just yet.

I remembered how much I LOVED the Bohemian Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog, but I hadn't used it in awhile. That was the start of my sketch challenge card. It's simple, colorful and just a little special with the Gold Cording Trim (a holiday leftover!) for a little shine.

I am grateful that you came to visit today. Won't you consider leaving a comment? I would also love it if you subscribed to my blog, joined my blog or followed me on Pinterest. You can find all those links on my right sidebar.

Please use my Online Store whenever you need Stampin' Up! supplies. The link will lead you to all the information about earning free products during Sale-A-Bration, which lasts through March 31st.  See my right sidebar for links to the Catalog and SAB Brochure.

Big Congrats To You! PPA272

My photography skills don't do this card justice. I thought that since the sketch was very basic and clean I would really jazz it up with some sparkle and shine.

Here you can see the sparkle from the Black and Silver Glimmer Paper a bit better. Then there's more with Silver Foil Paper. I added some texture using the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My simple Basic Black sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.

What do you think? Please leave your comments! They keep me going.

Golden Birthday Card for PPA268

Welcome to this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge, a sketch! The sketch threw me because I kept thinking "star" but instead, I began to think "one large and simple element in the middle" and that's when this idea came to me.

Adhering the Fancy Foil Vellum is a snap when you use the striped pattern! I used Tear and Tape on every stripe towards the edges. Simple! The Gold Foil Doily has a Circles Collection "Happy Birthday" from Tin of Cards. I embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. It's popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and I slid a Gold Satin Ribbon underneath the circle. My card base is Thick White Card Stock, so rich and perfect to hold all of that gold.

I hope you enjoyed looking today. I hope you are inspired to make your own card. Post it to the Pals site and you will be playing along!

Just Because for PPA265

It's Thursday, so time to play along with the Pals at Pals Paper Arts! This week's sketch reminded me of a mini file folder, so I created the shape using Crushed Curry card stock with the Envelope Punch Board and the Tin of Cards Photopolymer stamp set. The Tin of Cards Stamp set is so versatile! I am using it a lot since I completed the cards that came in the set.

The Designer Paper is from the Into the Woods Designer Series paper pack. (Available September 1st). I used the Envelope Punch Board to make my envelope the A2 size, but then I cut off the flap and a bit below the flap so my "index card" would sort of stick out.

I decorated the tab portion of the card using the stamped sentiment and the leaves from the Square Pillow Box Thinlits, which also debut on September 1st. I tied a bow using Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon around the envelope shape.

I hope you enjoyed looking today! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. You can leave them below!
