Classic Masculine Card

Hey everyone! How is your day going? I hope you are well and enjoying some lovely Spring weather. Summer is right around the corner and this card could be used for a birthday or for Father's Day. I used some Country Club Designer Series Paper (background plaid and the golf course scene), some green twine, a sentiment from Guy Greetings and the All Dressed Up dies to cut out my sentiment. My card base is Night of Navy. Very classic all around.

Wood Patterns and Itty Bitty Greetings

I was browsing Pinterest and came across this lovely layout on a "wood" inspired card by my friend and mentor, Mary Fish of Stampin' Pretty. I knew it WOOD be perfect for my workshop this month and I was right. The ladies loved all the wood tones, the texture from the new Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and all the combined browns in this card.

Each lady chose which sentiment she wanted on her card from the Itty Bitty Greetings, a new stamp set that has gotten so much use from me already! I know it will remain in my collection for a long time.

Father's Day Plaid

You can definitely tell that I am trying to use up retiring designer series paper! The wonderful prints in this True Gentleman Designer Series Paper are so fun to play with, mix and match. This year I didn't buy every designer paper in the catalog, and I STILL have a good supply left! 

If you are ever wondering if you will have enough when you buy a package, wonder no more! You can make dozens of cards from a single package.

My sentiment is from Guy Greetings (retiring oh, too soon for me!) and the little stamp on the left of the greeting is from the retiring Truly Tailored stamp set.  The Crushed Curry band across the middle is dry embossed using the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Dapper Gift Card

I cannot wait to include this little gem with a gift for a guy in my life. It's so darn cute!! Again, these colors really make me a happy camper. And those CUTE little elements on the front were each fussy cut from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Easy!

A scrap of the bow tie print from the designer series paper was used to line the top part of the inside of the envelope as well as the outside flap. Lots of coordination for the dapper look!

Grand Birthday Greetings

Another direct CASE from the Occasions Catalog. I can't stop! I love that I now have a wonderful supply of gentlemanly cards to send out when needed. These colors are so wonderful together, however, I must say that my Night of Navy looks more royal in the photo than it does in person.

Using the Tailored Tag Punch, which is an elongated hexagon shape sure makes it easy to use every scrap of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.

Truly Tailored Any Occasion Card

I began using my Truly Tailored stamp set with it's coordinating Tailored Tag Punch and True Gentleman Designer Series Paper. What a suite! I love the colors. 

I got my inspiration from the Occasions catalog, page 44 on the lower left corner. They used this layout for a small gift card and didn't use any ribbon. I added the Crushed Curry border and made my card base Basic Gray rather than Night of Navy.

I chose to brighten up the color scheme by making my flag out of Emerald Envy card stock rather than the Tranquil Tide that is in the designer series paper. I love the other colors I used: Basic Gray, Crushed Curry and Night of Navy. Those glasses on the designer print paper are so sharp looking!! :-)

Life's A Journey: Enjoy the Ride

When I see a card that is so well-crafted and I have all the supplies myself, I can't HELP but CASE it and this one is no exception. My Stampin' Pretty Pal Windy Ellard made a similar one some time back, and I've been meaning to make it, too. She used different colors and Designer Paper, but I used colors I had on hand.

The sentiment from One Wild Ride could be used on a card for many occasions! I love this stamp set just for that reason.

Best Decision Ever--Retirement!

A friend is retiring from law enforcement after 30 years with our county. There's a party tonight! I made a card for him that has some of the colors of the uniform he wore. The card base is Always Artichoke, a color I rarely use. I added the Chevron textured Crushed Curry and used burlap ribbon and a gold button and cording for a fancy touch.

The chevrons remind me that he achieved the rank of Sergeant--kind of like those patches they wear. The gold is just a fancy touch. There are gold and yellow accents on the patch with our county emblem.

Happy Father's Day!

This Father's Day card was inspired by a birthday card I received in a swap. I'm so sorry that there was no information on the card about who designed it! It's not my design. I only changed the sentiment. I love the colors. I just got this stamp set, "The Open Sea", even though I've admired it for a long time. I've seen so many great cards made with this set and it's elements that I finally let it get to the top of my Wish List!

Happy Birthday for PPA256

Happy Thursday! It's time for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time it's a sketch. Feel free to use the sketch as your starting point to create something out of paper.

Using the sketch, I chose three prints from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack. These sheets are 6 x 6" and there are 4 each of 12 designs in each stack, for a total of 48 sheets. The price is right at $8 (138441).

Next, I made my card base out of Tip Top Taupe. I added a slightly smaller piece of Basic Black that I textured using the Chevron TIEF and my Big Shot. I placed the three banners (created using 1" strips of DSP and using my Banner Triple Punch) like they are on the sketch. 

I was thinking of using ribbon horizontally across the top, but it didn't look good, so I added a piece of Whisper White card stock instead. The sentiment "happy birthday" is from the Sprinkles on Top stamp set. I love this script! I decided to add two "&" Essentials Clips because they would shine a little and because I never know what to use those for!! :-) (They are now retired).

Tap, Tap, Tap--Hi!

Here is a fun card made with the new Tap, Tap, Tap stamp set, which debuts June 2nd. I loved watching the demonstration at the Catalog Reveal. The typewrite image comes with a blank piece of paper in it. The "hi" is one of the sentiments from the set. I embossed the typewrite using Black Embossing Powder on Crumb Cake Card stock. Then I had little "borders" to keep my Smoky Slate and Pear Pizzazz inks from running into each other when I applied them using my Aqua Painter. I love how there are darker and lighter areas. Makes the typewriter look older. I snipped it out with my Paper Snips and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

For my background, I used Gorgeous Grunge and Pear Pizzazz ink. The other image is from the Tap, Tap, Tap set: a small sheet of notebook paper. I colored the lines with my Night of Navy and Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write Markers. I stamped it crooked on purpose--really! Lastly, I added some Linen Thread because I think it goes so well with the vintage feel of the card. I'll be using this card to write to my son who lives in Japan.

Creative Crew Card #2

Betcha didn't know that December 24th is National Chocolate Day, didja? Well, according to our Creative Crew organizer, it is! So, we were to make a card using Chocolate Chip and make it while eating our favorite chocolate candy. Mine is KISSES!! Okay, really, my favorite chocolate candy is the candy in my mouth, but I digress...

Here I created a masculine birthday card for my brother-in-law. I used a simple folded card and added a banner that is framed with Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper. I added a Designer Naturals Button tied with some Early Espresso Baker's Twine to finish this Birthday Wishes card.
