Precious Baby

The colors I chose to work with on this card dictated that I make a baby girl card. I love the soft Pink Pirouette with Pear Pizzazz. I was out of Whisper White card stock for awhile, and it forced me to use more Very Vanilla, which I think goes great on this card.

My background is just Pink Pirouette from the Designer Series Subtles Stack with a square Fancy Fan embossed piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock. On top of that I placed my Tag Topper Punch in Pink Pirouette. I cut across the bottom with the Large Scallop Thinlit, then embossed using the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder. I added pearls and a piece of Venetian Crochet Trim. Above that is my senitment from the That's The Ticket stamp set, which I cut out with the Ticket Duo punch and popped onto my tag using Stampin' Dimensionals. One row of spaced out Basic Pearls goes above the tag. I added a Pear Pizzazz Chevron ribbon and tied it with a Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon tied in a knot.

Thank you for looking today. I know I would love to read your comments!

I admit, I had a lot of trouble with these colors! The above offering was not my first attempt! But I do like what I ended up with, just under the deadline! Don't wait to add your creation to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge Blog!

You can't see, but my sentiment stamps were embossed. I had to use clear embossing powder because I don't have all the colors of embossing powders--YET! I have to admit that I have not used my Bird Builder Punch as much as I thought I would, but there is always tomorrow!

Please leave your comments--I love to read them all!

10 Days? Oh, Happy Day!!

Vacation and this sweet face are the reasons I have been absent for 10 days!! Our puppy has been with us about 8 weeks and in that time we've taken three trips. So, when we got back from the last trip, I really had to slow down and take some quality time (ALL the time!) to be with her, train her and make her part of our daily life. Her name is Winnie and she is a Sheltie. This is the photo that captured our hearts! She is much bigger now and a very mellow puppy, but she still needs constant watching in the house. I'm having a time of training her!

Consequently, I don't spend a lot of time in my carpeted craft room. She does have her own bed in there, but I can only guess when she is worn out enough for me to have a few moments in there while she sleeps.

I CASEd this card and I'm so sorry that I don't know whose original card I was inspired by. I mostly changed the color scheme and the "celebrate" element. It did take quite a few tries to put it together, but it isn't hard at all. I LOVE these colors!!

I'd love to know what you think! Please leave a comment below.

There are many things going on in the Stampin' Up! world, like a Big Shot and Bundles Special (get a free set of Framelits when you purchase a Big Shot thru August 31st)...

Thank You, Thank You & Thank You

Since I do not sketch things out before I make a card, this card came out totally different than what I first had in mind. I'm always amazed when that happens :-)

I knew I wanted to use the "Hello, Lovely" stamp set, the Banner Punch with pieces of card stock and/or designer series paper and some scraps of previously dry embossed card stock. Those scraps in Brushed Silver and Blushing Bride became my color palette. I added Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon and then began to design my card front.

I really like how it came out.  It didn't take much time at all. I machine-stitched down the center of the ribbon and then pulled to gather and tied each end in a knot. I adhered the ribbon with Sticky Strip. The buttons and banners were adhered with Small Glue Dots. The ampersand was popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals after I cut it out with Paper Snips and gave it a shimmer with Zig's Wink of Stella Brush Pen. (Photo does not do the shimmer justice!) The designer buttons were the last edition and adhered with Small Glue Dots.

What do you think? I'd love to read your comments. AND, a special SHOUT OUT TO LISA!! Thank you for making my day with a very special card. I love to put cards from others around my studio for inspiration! You are too sweet!!

MOJO327--Cutest Baby Ever

I needed a baby card for a shower on Saturday and I knew my color scheme (it matches a blanket I made for Olivia) but I had no idea for a layout. That's when I decided to pay attention to this week's Mojo Monday sketch by Julee Tilman.

My card base is Whisper White, covered with a Baked Brown Sugar Designer Series Paper Stack print. Next I layered a piece of Whisper White down the left side that is die cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit and embossed with the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder.

My sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White in Blushing Bride and then punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. I stamped it again onto Whisper White using Pistachio Pudding ink and then hand-cut the scalloped middle and used a Stampin' Dimensional to pop it up over the label.

Instead of putting a little punch or banner under the middle element of the card, I extended this Designer Frame past the bottom of it. The hearts on the sketch became butterflies from the Elegant and Bitty Butterfly punches and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride card stock butterflies were embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots and Delicate Designs Embossing Folders for more texture. Basic Pearls further dress up my butterflies for Olivia.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today. Please take a moment to leave your comments. I love to read them all! Have a great day!

Happy New Year in Pink

Another year has come to an end and a new one is beginning. What will 2014 hold for us all? I will be working on a new blog design, hoping to have it up and running by mid-January. Here, I created a card using some non-Stampin' Up! products---GASP! Yes, my son and his wife live in Japan and for Christmas, I received some favorite Japanese chocolates and some stickers! Some were "lucky" scratch-offs for New Year's and these were beautiful flowers. They are self-adhesive, which made this card a snap to make! There were about 9 different stickers and I used one of each to create my branch. At the end of the branch, I used the Happy New Year sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. This is a Thank You card I sent to them for my Christmas gifts.

Here is what the package looks like. I love their packaging! There are two bags to keep your product clean and safe. I still have many more stickers for other projects.

Thank you for being loyal followers of my blog! I hope you will sign up to follow me ("Join This Site" on the side bar) if you haven't already! I'm trying to get 100 followers so I can have a big Blog Candy celebration and YOU can help out by subscribing today!

If you are headed out for a party tonight, I hope you will be SAFE! Please be careful out there. I'm the type that likes to be sleeping at midnight, even on New Year's Eve. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz   See you next year!

Black and White Happy Birthday For Creative Crew

This card was made for a sweet person. It's part of my Creative Crew Challenges for October. (CCREW1013CF) You can see the rest of them in my Splitcoast Stamper Gallery

I decided I needed a dramatic card, and I'm not good at water coloring these gorgeous flowers,  so I began by embossing white onto black. I used the Apothecary Art Stamp set and the Big Shot with Apothecary Accents Framelits. I used my Embossing Buddy to make sure there were no bits of White Embossing Powder clinging to my Basic Black card stock.

Here is a close up of my "flag." I used pieces of Modern Medley designer series paper to mimic the large background flag that was made of the Fancy Fan Embossing onto Whisper White. I love how this looks. In the middle is a piece of 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta ribbon.

What do you think? Dramatic? I think the sweet person I made this for will appreciate it! Please leave your comments below.

CAS Note Card Thanks

I've been so behind lately! I'm going to try and be better. I'm also getting ready for my October Creative Crew challenges on Splitcoast, so bear with me!

This card is just a quick, Clean and Simple "thank you" that I made with a pre-cut Note Card (131537 20 cards/20 envelopes $5.95). They are handy to have around for a smaller note.

Add a sentiment Lovely Little Labels (132033 Wood $13.95 or 126262 Clear $10.95) or sentiment and Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126845 $8.95 for 10 yds.) like I did above and you are good to go.

Want to really make an impression? Add an embossed layer like I did above with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder (127751 $7.95) run through the Big Shot.

I hope you enjoyed looking and I'm trying to get more posts up! Have a great day!

Happy Day Embossing

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was fantastic. Summer is almost over! Today's card is another from a Workshop last week. We used embossing powder! It's hard to tell from the photo, but that lovely, lacey medallion is embossed using VersaMark and White Embossing Powder.

I was so nervous about having a crowd use embossing powder, but my group was very neat and tidy and I do believe I will be doing more embossing with them!

PPA166 Color Challenge

Welcome to this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge. I LOVE this color scheme.

I had the Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon bow already tied and sitting on my desk from another project that took a different turn that I had planned on. That's where I began my card.

The horizontal bow is accented by the vertical shape from the Chalk Talk stamp set.

I accented the image with a Simply Pressed Clay flower. I took a bit of the clay, added in a drop or two of Strawberry Slush re-inker an kneaded it until the color was even. I pressed it into the Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds, popped it out and then let it dry.

I love how feminine my card turned out. This will be for my niece's birthday in September. She will be turning 9 and I think it will be perfect for her.

How will you play along with us at Pals Paper Arts? There are unlimited possibilities with a color combination challenge. I hope to see YOUR creation uploaded on our PPA blog!
