Lattice Love

For that special Valentine, why not create a special card? I used Very Vanilla card stock as my base, then added a Top Note die cut in Basic Black. To decorate the die, I used the Lattice die cut out of Pretty In Pink and tied a 5/8" Very Vanilla satin ribbon (love the feeling of this ribbon!) into a knot. Then I decorated the lattice with butterflies from the Embosslits Beautiful Wings die and a Large Oval punch of the Valentine Holiday Best dipped into Pretty In Pink ink. Yum.
This is a very rich looking card with the black, lattice and satin.

PPA 9 Inspiration

Hello everyone! Today's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is an Inspiration Photo. This means you "study" the inspiration photo and then you create your card (or any paper item you wish) based on the colors and textures of the photo. It's fun! What jumps out at you about this photo? I hope you will play along.
I began by choosing the sketch from Mojo 101, which I printed out, but had never used for a card. From the inspiration photo above, I pulled out the colors Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie. I added Chocolate Chip as a neutral background. I made my own "designer paper" by taking the pine cones image from Holiday Tag Team and coloring the two parts with my Stampin' Write markers and stamping them onto Creamy Caramel. I also colored the sentiment with my markers so I could have two colors on that image.

Shopping List:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel
Stamps: Holiday Best (hostess), Holiday Tag Team
Accessories: Paper piercing mat pack, metal circle die, Big Shot, Linen Thread, Playground Designer Series button, Theater Ribbon Originals satin Chocolate Chip ribbon, Stamin' Write Markers in Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and Pumpkin Pie

Pals Paper Arts #5 Halloween Theme

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge #5 with a Halloween Theme. I used the Trick or Treat sentiment from Holiday Best (Hostess Level 1), stamped in Basic Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the same image on Whisper White and Dusty Durango. I lined them up on my paper trimmer and made a cut down the center of the image. I put the two different colors back together and they lined up perfectly. I backed the two-toned image in Old Olive and added three black brads, which I placed perfectly using my Paper Piercer Mat Pack. That is one handy tool that I use a lot! I added some retired Old Olive printed designer paper to the bottom half of the Basic Black panel, tied on some Old Olive ribbon, then added that to an Elegant Eggplant panel that was trimmed at the top using my Spiral punch. The card base is Basic Black.

I hope you will play with us at Pals Paper Arts. Check out our challenges, which are posted each Thursday morning and upload your creation by noon (CST) each Tuesday. Each week we pick 3 Pals Paper Artist Picks and we could be choosing YOU, but only if you play!
