PPA202 Sending Love Naturally

Happy Thursday! I am so glad you visited today. Pals Paper Arts is using a great color combination this week and I simply made it work for the above card. 

My card base is a piece of Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is not necessary to dress it up any, so I left it the way it "naturally" is and it makes a fantastic background with no work. 

Next, I simply stamped one of the images from Papaya Collage onto Whisper White card stock using Bermuda Bay ink. I punched it out using the Decorative Label punch. In the center I stamped the "love" from Fabulous Phrases using Crumb Cake ink. For the Real Red, I decided to punch out a Small Heart and add one Basic Rhinestone. It came to rest on the upper right of the label. 

For balance, I added a Bermuda Bay bow using 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. This ribbon always ties so easily. Wasn't that fast?

Chalkboard CASE

Happy Wednesday! I'm sharing a card that I CASEd from a fellow Stampin' Pretty Pal, Ann Schach. Ann is VERY talented and I admire her cards so much. CASE is when we stampers "copy and share everything." We give credit to those who made it before us, and sometimes we change it up a bit, too, which I did do here.

(The Chalkboard Technique is making piece of Basic Black card stock look like it's been written on with chalk, erased and re-written on. Or in this case, heat embossed with white embossing powder (my sentiment). I made it look erased by using my Embossing Buddy, a little dust-filled sack that takes the static off of paper before you ink and stick the embossing powder onto it. In this case, I used the Embossing Buddy AFTER I heated the powder, as well as before).

I loved Ann's chalkboard so much, I left it just the same as she made it, but I changed the surrounding card and made it my own by using a different pattern from the Modern Medley Designer Series paper and a large Cherry Cobbler matt that is dry embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder and just one Gold Foil banner down the middle.

I love how the teeny heart from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit fits perfectly into the Eiffel Tower image!

Creative Crew Color Focus

My last Creative Crew card for September is this beauty. I can honestly say, I think this is a pretty card! 

The challenge was to use Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper or the colors Smoky Slate/Coastal Cabana/Crushed Curry and make a card for someone you admire. This is for a dear friend who is always looking positively no matter what the circumstances. She inspires me!

I LOVE the stamp set Papaya Collage. It's so elegant and you can do so much with it. The frame is gorgeous cut out and popped up on Stampin' Dimesionals. You can also cut out the middle and frame anything you stamp or place in that space. I chose to frame the frame as well, using Eastern Elegance Designer paper, then a Smoky Slate mat, and THEN the wonderful Ruffle Stretch Trim in Coastal Cabana. Such a luxurious look! The sentiment "friends" is from the stamp set Sweet Essentials. This challenge is numbered: CCREW0913DF

Certainly Bashful Mist-PPA156

Can't believe how time has flown this past week! I have been working in my garden--see how well this card fits into that train of thought? My bird on the wire is not unlike a lot of the critters I encounter while gardening. I'll show you another critter I found just yesterday at the end of my post!

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! 

I began my card with a piece of Whisper White card stock. All images come from Payapa Collage. I decorated the right edge by dipping the leaves into Certainly Celery ink. I aged my card edges using a sponge dauber touched onto a Soft Suede ink pad.

Next, I stamped the bird image onto Certainly Celery card stock using Early Espresso ink. I ran that piece through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I gave my bird a wire to stand on by wrapping a piece of Linen Thread around my card stock and tying a bow.

I adhered the bird panel to a slightly larger piece of Marina Mist card stock. I aged the edges again using Soft Suede. After adhering the entire panel onto the card base, I used my Color Spritzer tool and Early Espresso marker to sprinkle onto the entire card.

I stamped the circular image onto a piece of Canvas Creations using Marina Mist ink. I ran that piece through the Big Shot using the Finishing Touches Edgelits for my pinked vertical edges. In the center, I stamped "love" in Certainly Celery from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set. I embellished using Basic Pearls and adhered the canvas using Stampin' Dimensionals. I love how the canvas takes the ink! The canvas is very soft and pliable, not stiff like a lot of canvas material out there. It comes in one 12 x 12" sheet for 3.95 (129375)

Heavenly Saturday

Happy Saturday! I am in heaven because I get to garden my Saturday morning away! If all of my flowers looked as beautiful as this card, I'd be sipping a cold one by the pool instead of sweating away in the dirt! Originally I designed the card below, but needed to switch the colors for a Workshop I had this week, as I only had certain ribbons available for a large crowd.

I just LOVE how this flower looks, with the bloom from Floral Fusion Sizzlits die. SO easy to put together and then accent with a Giant Pearl! The teeny butterfly is enjoying the view from the petals!

This is the first version, which I really do like, but I didn't have enough of the now-retired ribbon for everyone to have one like this. I hope Pool Party sticks around, because I really like it!!

PPA138 Color Challenge-Early Cobbler Delight!

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge #138! Use the colors above and create a card or other item from any supplies you like. Upload your card to our website and you will be playing along!

I started with my Very Vanilla card base and stamped my own designer paper using the leaf image from the Papaya Collage stamp set. I inked it in Daffodil Delight. I darkened my edges by using a Sponge Dauber and Chocolate Chip ink. Then I used my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker and my Color Spritzer Tool to dot the images. Lastly, I used Vanilla Smooch Spritz for some sparkle.

Next, I stamped the frame in Early Espresso Ink, cut it out and colored it using a Cherry Cobbler ink pad and my Blender Pen. I stamped my butterfly image in Early Espresso Ink, snipped it out and colored it in using Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight inks with my Blender Pen. I Vanilla Smooched it, too, then added pearls.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from Trust God in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Then I "framed" it using the Designer Embossing frames and my Big Shot. I Color Spritzed again with Soft Suede and then smooched it up, too. I mounted all of my elements on Stampin' Dimensionals.

TIP: To help my card dry flat, while it was still just a little bit damp I put my large Clear Block over the card for weight. This worked perfectly and did not stick to my card.
