Just For You PPA320

I cannot believe it's been two weeks since I posted a card. I've been busy sewing instead of making cards. Here is my fun offering for Pals Paper Arts Sketch #320.

I think this card qualifies at Clean and Simple, because it's basically one layer. I used one little star that I hoped to look like gingerbread to accent the vertical line on the sketch. I stamped that one star in VersaMark and used White embossing powder for a raised effect. My pearls accent each of the stars in the line.

My horizontal line is a portion of one of the sentiments from Candy Cane Christmas stamp set. I used a marker to isolate just the three words. Underneath my sentiment is the striped image from the same set in Real Red.

Mojo Monday Candy Cane Christmas

Play along with MOJO Monday! I loved this sketch, but didn't know how I would pull it off. I don't sew on my cards and I don't have a "stitch" stamp, so I had to improvise. This Stampin' Up! Specialty Designer Series Paper, "Candy Cane Christmas" provided just the design I was looking for to mimic a stitch on the sides of my square center portion.

Because I didn't want the stockings covered up too much on my center portion, I used Window Sheets and Craft Ink to stamp a sentiment, then cut it out with a 1" circle punch and matted it with a snippet from a Square Lattice Bigz Die. It is suspended over the stocking patterned paper with a Mini Glue dot and then the dot is camouflaged with a *sparkly* rhinestone. I like the way it turned out, but you can see in the close up that I didn't notice I had smudged my craft ink in my hurry to get this posted today!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock: Baja Breeze smooth and textured, Blushing Bride
Designer Series Paper: Candy Cane Christmas
Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired)
Ink: Craft White

Why don't you create something using the sketch below and post it for everyone to enjoy?
