June Blog Hop!

We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are based on “B“ themes such as Birthday, Bride or Baby. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I have three friends who are having girls this next few months! I decided that instead of creating ONE "B" for baby card, I would get all three done at once.

Three Onesies for 3 new baby girls!

I wasn't very excited about the new In Color, Sweet Sugarplum, but when I paired it with Smoky Slate, I liked it a lot better.

Card #1 has the Sweet Sugarplum banner embossed with the Elegant Polka Dots on a plain Smoky Slate background.
Card #2 has the Softly Falling background and a banner with home made DSP, thanks to the teeny flower in the Made With Love stamp set.

Card #3 has a Smoky Slate (Neutrals DSP Stack) background with a Large Polka Dot Embossed Banner. Teeny flowers adorn those large dots.
Which card do you like best? 1, 2 or 3? I'd love it if you voted in the comments below!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

What a Year!

My sister was born in 1964. I remember when my parents brought her home. I was so excited! She was born the night the Beatles made their US television premiere on the Ed Sullivan Show. The doctors and nurses were very busy trying to catch a glimpse of the show, but unfortunately missed most of it because that is when my sister chose to enter the world!

I made this card for her birthday this year using the Number of Years photopolymer stamp set. I love this set! It's going to be so much fun using the numbers for custom cards. Now we need a set of letters just as big with framelits to match! I used the banner from the same set to write my own message, but the stamp set comes with plenty of words to put into the banner if you choose.

  • Card Base: Island Indigo card stock cut to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  Use Large Polka Dot TIEF to emboss front. Set aside. (I apologize that the photo doesn't show the embossing very well. I'm working on getting a new camera!)
  • Whisper White card stock rectangle: stamp numbers using Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Island Indigo and Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pads.
  • Cut Basic Black card stock to matt Whisper White piece.
  • Add Boho Blossoms flower using matching card stock scraps. Adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Stamp banner using Basic Black ink. Write or stamp your greeting inside the banner.
  • Adhere banner using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Adhere rectangle to the center of the card base. Make recipient smile when you give this card!
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I hope you enjoyed my card.

For Peeps' Sake in PPA246 Colors

Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week are the lovely colors above! If you don't know, when a site offers a "challenge", it means you get to create a card or project using the specifics of the challenge--in this case COLOR!

My card was based on a card I saw a couple of months ago on Pinterest here.  I changed the card base, color of the "petals" and the ribbon. I added banners on the bottom in place of designer series paper peeking from under the tag. I like how the stems are "sewn" onto the tag.

What do you think? Please leave your comments below--I love to read them all!!

I hope you will check out all of the Design Team cards for inspiration and that you will join the Pals and post your creation soon! You may be "picked" at the end of the week and featured on our Wednesday post!

Pot of Gold Hearts for PPA242 Color Challenge

Happy Thursday! This card for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge came together very quickly once I got the idea! I started with a Brushed Gold card base and added a Garden Green background which was embossed with the Large Polk Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Next, I made a black Pot for Gold using my large and medium Oval Punches. The "feet" of the punch are from the Owl Builder punch. The teeny golden heart "coins" are also from the Owl Builder punch and they are punched from Gold Glimmer Paper.

After I made my pot of gold, I decided that a banner across the top would balance the card. I used Gold 1/8" ribbon to tie a bow and banner across the top. I added two Banner Punch flags in Garden Green prints from the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack. In the middle is a Whisper White banner that I Gold Embossed using "Teeny Tiny Wishes", my only St. Patrick's Day stamp!

I hope you enjoyed looking today! I'd love to read your comments, so please leave one before you move on! Have a great weekend!

Make sure you take advantage of Sale-A-Bration, where for each $50 you spend, you can choose a free item from the brochure! Only until March 31, 2015.
