Sweet Pie Anyone?

Here is a slice of "Sweet As Pie" from Paper Pumpkin the way it's served up in the October kit. Now, I think it's fine, but the pom pom turned out to be a little overwhelming for my taste! You could make that pom pom smaller. And, bonus: this piece of pie is a box that holds a surprise treat inside!

I decided on a sweeter-looking piece of pie by adding some soft whipped cream to the edge in the form of a half-doily. I softened a leaf shape by scoring some veins in this Vellum Card Stock and then adding color with sponge daubers. I used the Sweet As Pie stamp from the kit for my sentiment and cut around it so it's a banner. I attached it over the leaf with a bit of Linen Thread and Venetian Crochet Trim.

Now THAT's my idea of Sweet As Pie! Imagine 8 slices of this on a platter, or each "piece" served up as a placecard on your Thanksgiving table?

I hope you enjoyed looking today. Won't you please leave a comment?

If you are interested in having Paper Pumpkin delivered right to your door every month, why don't you give it a try? You can cancel at any time! October's Kit had all the supplies (pre-cut and scored pie boxes, stickers, yarn, stamps, ink spot) and instructions to make 8 pieces of pie. There are always a few items leftover and of course you have the ink and stamp set to keep forever :-)
