PPA210 Color Challenge-Happy Birthday Cake!

I'm in love with this color combination! I had fun creating this card and then putting it together. See what the other design team members and others who play along have done at Pals Paper Arts.

My focus was on the "cake" made using two rectangles and then topping it with flowers. Each section was done differently. Then my background was simple and full of polka dots. The Apothecary Accent Framelit was die cut out of the Subtles Designer Paper Stack. The background was a piece of Pool Party card stock dry embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

Back to the "cake" details. The bottom layer has "happy birthday" from Something to Say inked in Basic Gray ink. I decorated above that with In Color Sequins (Lost Lagoon hearts) and added a Basic Pearl. Below the sentiment, I used a piece of Lost Lagoon Satin Ribbon. The middle layer has "Seize the Cake" from Something to Say inked in Lost Lagoon ink and matted with Pool Party card stock. To decorate the top of the cake, I stamped the flowers from Something to Say in Pool Party ink and punched them out using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I decorated them with pearls to match the bottom layer.

Cute card, Patti! Of course, I love the dots! Great idea to just make the cake from rectangles too. I may give that a try sometime.
