New Way of Embossing

Here is a workshop card that I CASEd from Rhoda at Quick and Easy Crafter. The idea was for me to try the new Big Shot Embossing Mats in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog. These mats offer you more choices when using your dies and frailest. Instead of cutting, one of the mats allows you to only emboss the design. Here I used the Springtime Impressions Thinlits on either side of the card front inset. It made a lovely impression! To combat any cracking of the paper, I first embossed my paper using the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This folder is named appropriately, since the texture it adds is very "subtle."

Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies 146326   $29
Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder   143706 $10

Butterfly Basics Bundle

Thursday's post had my first April Workshop card to show you here. Here is the second card. I used Butterfly Basics and the Butterfly Thinlits. Coincidentally Stampin' Up! is offering the Butterfly Thinlits dies at a discount through April 30th. They are only $21.20, which is 15% off. Plus, you get to choose one of three Sale-A-Bration products as a bonus. The thinlits are again available for shipping and this is how Stampin' Up! is celebrating this very popular item.

I love the three different sized options in the Butterfly Thinlits. Here, I have heat embossed the medium-sized butterfly stamp from Butterfly Basics onto vellum with White Embossing Powder. I layered it over a Crisp Cantaloupe die cut and it looks so delicate. I used a Glue Dot to hold it on.

I used a Stampin' Dimensional to pop up the postmark stamp after punching it out with the 3/4" Circle Punch. At the bottom, I added a knot with Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed looking today. Thanks for stopping by. Before you leave, won't you leave a comment for me? I love to read each one!

Happy Watercolor Gold

This is my second card made with Ann Schach's Monthly Classes. When you sign up for her class, you purchase the stamp set of the month and it's mailed to you. You also receive links to video tutorials on how to make each of three cards. You also receive a PDF tutorial you can use. And, you receive one of each of the three cards you will be making. Ann herself makes the cards for you! So, you have live samples, a video and a written tutorial. There is no way to go wrong!!

Now, I did not have the Designer Series paper that Ann used, so I substituted the Brights Paper Stack. I also didn't have the Gold Sequin Trim, so I substituted Gold Foil Sheets which I used a paper punch on. I added a small Basic Rhinestone to it and it looks much like a Sequin. I also chose not to add another grouping of the "sequins" to the left of the Poppy as Ann did. You can always make your card your own. The point of her Classes is to teach you the technique, in this case watercoloring. I've learned so much!

Thank you for looking today. I hope you liked my cards. I am always hoping to inspire YOU, as I have been inspired by so many others!
