Butterfly Basics Birthday

Today's card is for my aunt for her birthday. She and my uncle have been going through a rough time the past six months, so I wanted to take a little extra time to make a card that she would really like.

I used a square framelit to cut out the frame for my masterpiece. I did this by cutting one square near the fold and then re-cutting another square near the opening edge. Does that make sense? The end result is a rectangular window in my card front.

My flowers were colored using Stampin' Blends in Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

I fussy cut the small butterfly and the fern and flowers. The large butterfly was cut using the Butterflies Thinlits. My butterflies were stamped using Crushed Curry ink.

I hope you like my project today. Please leave me a comment so I know you were here.

What a clever idea, to make it look like a framed work of art. It looks like the frame is popped up on dimetionals. It gives it such depth! It's also nice to see this stamp set highlighted again, seems like it's been a while. Thanks for the great card.
