Personalized Hanging Sign

Today's project is a sign that I made for my Bible study Core Group. This is so the ladies who attend can find my circle in an open room. I didn't leave myself much time to make this (I thrive on deadlines :-) so I whipped it up without thinking much about it. It took me about an hour from start to finish.

I began with a scrap of chipboard for stability. I covered it with two prints from a LONG-retired package of Designer Series Paper. I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch holes in the top left and right corners to slip my 7/8" Cotton Ribbon through. I made knots to keep them from coming out. Now I can hang my sign.

I cut out my letters using my Big Shot and the retired Typeset Alphabet Bigz die. I added two Spiral Flowers cut from Very Vanilla to match my letters.

I made the flower centers from a long strip of Baked Brown Sugar dotted DSP pack paper. I cut the strip 3/4" wide, folded it in half, glued it and then cut little tiny strips from the folded edge toward the open edges, but not all the way through. I rolled it onto itself, glued and cut it when it was wide enough to fit inside the flower centers. I fanned them out a bit when they dried.

Lastly, I added some Very Vintage Designer Buttons with Linen Thread bows in the centers.

I love your comments, so won't you make me smile by leaving one?

Hi! Thanks for commenting. No one from my group said anything about my sign yet, but it was the first and very busy week getting organized. I did have another leader ask if I could make her a sign, though. :-)
