Pals Blog Hop -- Occasions Catalog

Welcome to our first blog hop of 2014. This month we are excited to show you the new products available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog as well as a preview of the free products you can earn through Sale-a-bration at the end of January.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from #11 Michelle Gleeson at Stampin' Mojo on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I chose to use the gold theme that runs through the Occasions Catalog. There is much to celebrate when you are using gold! My supply of Stampin' Up's existing Brushed Gold card stock has been dusted off!

Would you like to make this card? All of the Occasions products are in Bold in my instructions below:
1. Basic Black Card Stock: cut 4-3/4" x 9-1/2", score down the middle
2. Brushed Gold Card Stock: cut 4" x 4". Use Finishing Touches Edgelits along bottom edge
3. Gold Fancy Foil DSP: cut 3-1/4" x 3-1/4". Adhere to Brushed Gold by putting Snail under each dot and in three places across the top of the DSP.
4. Gold Baker's Twine: For the banner, cut 5" long, fold 2" pieces of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape from center out. Add Gold embossed star from Banner Blast (Sale-A-Bration) and Gold Foil heart from Fashionable Hearts Embosslit. Adhere ends of Baker's Twine to each side near the top of the Brushed Gold card stock. Adhere on back with Sticky Strip. Add two small Gold Baker's Twine bows on either end of the "banner" using rolled Mini Glue Dots. Adhere Gold card stock to card base about 1/8" from the fold at the top.

Stamp "You make the world a better place" from Starburst Sayings using VersaMark onto Whisper White AND Basic Black card stock. Use your Embossing Buddy first so you don't have flyaway powder that gets embossed where you don't want it. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder onto the image, then heat set each image with a heat gun. Die cut the Whisper White image using the Starburst Framelits. Snip the Basic Black "world" from it's image. Use Glue Dots to adhere to Whisper White image. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment near the bottom center of the card. Image should be partly on the Basic Black, partly on the Brushed Gold piece.
Now, send your card to a friend who embodies this sentiment! Enjoy the rest of the Pals Blog Hop!
The next stop is #13, Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you next month. Don't forget to leave a comment below. Have a great day!

Love Love Love the gold embossing. Leadership really emphasized on the use of gold embossing powder. This is one of my favorite stamp sets too. Actually, I have soooo many favorites... LOL

The black and gold are so striking together. I love how you made the black and gold banner in the middle of the starburst.
