PPA170 Midnight Muse, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso

Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge 170. Using our colors, what will you come up with? I stretched it this week!! I tried a new technique: Masking Tape. I just put my piece of masking tape or painter's tape over your ink pad and rub it. Then I pulled it off, rubbed it gently onto a scrap piece of paper, then placed it on my card stock and rubbed real well over the entire piece. Pull it off and there is your imprint! Easy!

You might notice a different "pattern" on the Early Espresso tape. That pad is a linen pad, while the Midnight Muse and Crushed Curry are both firm foam pads. I like the firm foam images better. I can see lines in the linen one and I don't like that!

To add to the "informal" look on my card, I used the set Gorgeous Grunge for splatters and "skid marks." "Seriously" is from the Seriously My Paper Pumpkin kit from a couple of months back. I distressed the edges of this piece using the Distressing Tool.

On the bottom of the card, I added a panel that was embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then brayered with Early Espresso ink. I tore it by hand to fit perfectly across the bottom.

What do you think? It's a little out of my norm for cards, but that is why I like challenges so much!

Thanks for looking and I hope you leave your comments below. I love to read them all.

This is a great card, Patti! I love Gorgeous Grunge with the tape technique. They made a great pair. The wood grain at the bottom made for the perfect finish.
