Magnificent Maple

A new week-- a new chance for cooler weather! Well, maybe not here in Southern California, but a girl can hope! It seems like summer didn't really kick in until the very end! I'm not going to complain, though, weather is a top reason I like living here!

The card I made this weekend took many turns. I intended to use my new Magnificent Maple single stamp dipped in Basic Black, stamped onto a leafy color and then cut out. I got the idea to gold emboss it instead and then to gold emboss it onto a piece of Designer Paper. I had this scrap from Sweater Weather (around here it's still SWEAT weather-lol!) sitting on my desk, so I thought, why not?

A plaid always makes me think of cooler weather and so does burlap! I added a strip of Natural Trim and then dolled it up with a northern border of Brown Sugar Stretch Ruffle Trim. OH, how I love Stretch Ruffle Trim! I wish it came in every single color!!!

Here you can see the shine of my Gold embossing powder. I know my Framed Tulips aren't very "fallish", but again, it's very warm here! I added some feel of fall to them by using a sponge dauber with Early Espresso ink to sort of get them dirty just like a lot of leaves are!

What do you think? Won't you leave me a comment below? I love to read them all!

Hi Patty! I just love the Mighty leaf. There are so many opportunities for it. I love how you used the gold embossing on it. It is so pretty against that plaid paper. The Tulip folder embossing is so grand around it. Very striking with the hint of Tangerine Tango. Very nicely done!

In Michigan, our weather is going to go from 90 hot and sticky to 66 by the weekend and 44 at night. Enjoy your heat!!!

Lynn, It's a tad cooler today , but I don't trust it won't be HOT again before it settles into cooler days! It's tough watching football games and sweating!! Thanks for your kind comments!
