PPA#4 Anything But a Card

Pals Paper Arts Challenge #4 is "Anything But a Card." You will see all kinds of projects uploaded this week. How will you answer this challenge? Think about it and play along! I made this Top Note Die box using this tutorial at The Sunset House. I printed it out and it was easy to follow. In less than one hour, I had designed and completed this little gift box. In the tutorial, there are instructions for adding dividers (half or in quarters) to the inside of your box (great to give card candy), but for this box, I left it open.

You didn't know that Stampin' Up has Sage Shadow corduroy buttons? Well, they don't but I used my ink pad and my Stampin' Write Marker to "color" my Kraft-colored button! I simply inked it up like it was a stamp by holding it upside down and blotting onto the ink pad. The edges needed a bit more and I didn't want to get ink on my fingers, so I held the brad by it's "tails" and colored the edges with my Sage Shadow Stampin' Write marker! Anything darker than Kraft and you can make it happen! Behind the button, (which is fastened onto a Sizzlets Birds and Blooms flower die cut) is a piece of velcro, adhered with sticky strip to keep my box closed.

I'm going to be putting a gift card into this cute box for my friend's birthday. The year she is turning ends in a zero~that's all I'll say!

If you would like to complete this project, you will need the following ingredients:

Cardstock: Basic Gray, Sage Shadow, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue
Designer Series Paper: Nouveau Chic
Stamps: "Celebrate" isolated from the A Brand New Year stamp (available September 1st)
Ink: Sage Shadow
Accessories: Sizzlits Birds and Blooms die, Big Shot, Oval punches, Scallop Oval punch, Modern Label Punch, Kraft Corduroy Brad, Velcro

If you are in need of any of these items, I would be happy to have your order. Just use my Demonstrator Website for quick checkout at your convenience, 24/7.

I have to use my top note die more - the box is a great idea - as is coloring the button! I learn so much from all of you!
