Clean and Simple Element of Style "Lace" with the PPA

Okay, my lace doesn't look like the inspiration, but that's okay! Our photos are just a place for you to begin. I hope you visit Pals Paper Arts and see how the rest of the design team and our Featured Artist have interpreted our theme.

I started with a Crumb Cake card stock base for this card. I used a piece of Whisper White card stock and created my own designer paper! I took the small leaf image from the stamp set "Faith in Nature" (hostess) and stamped rows in Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and More Mustard inks. I cut it to fit the front of the card at 4" x 5-1/4".

I cut a piece of vellum the same size as my stamped card stock. I inked the sentiment from "Faith in Nature" in Early Espresso ink and stamped it onto the vellum. I adhered the vellum using Snail adhesive just across the top of the Whisper White card stock.

I cut a piece of More Mustard card stock in a strip to adhere to my designer paper under the sentiment. This makes it show up better.

To finish my card and keep in our theme of "lace" I adhered a piece of 5/8" Victoria crochet trim across the top of the card. This hides the adhesive that I used to adhere the vellum as well. I used a sponge dauber to "color" the crochet trim by dipping it onto a More Mustard ink pad and gently rubbing it across the trim.

I hope you enjoyed looking and that you will leave your comments below. You will love checking out the rest of the entries to this week's challenge at Pals Paper Arts!

Wow, Patti! How clever! I love the vellum over the top of the design, and I love how you made your own designer paper using this gorgeous stamp!

Patti! I think this is my favorite of your cards so far! I love the symmetry of the leaves. It is very dramatic and so well balanced. The band with the sentiment is perfect!
