PPA95 - Elements of Style - Brads

I needed a masculine birthday card, and what helps thi
s card be masculine? Brads! Even the name is masculine--get it? BRADS!! I'm so funny.

Also, I just received Nautical Expedition designer series p
aper and I love how it caters to the explorer in all of us!

I began with a base of Naturals Ivory card stock, cutting m
y 8-1/2" x 11" sheet in half lengthwise. I sponged the edges with a dauber using Soft Suede ink. Then I folded it in half and cut the stripe 1/4" smaller than the front of my card.

I punched photo corners from Cherry Cobbler and Basic Gray card stock and attached the small ones to the striped paper and the larger ones behind the paper so it looks like I slipped the paper between them like an old photo.

I added three Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets in the top right corner. I tore a rectangle-shaped corner off a page of the designer paper that looks like a ship's log. I
sponged all of the edges with Soft Suede ink and my sponge dauber.

On top of the log page, centered, I layered a Cherry Cobbler 2" x 1-3/8" Oval, and then an anchor print (also from Nautical Expedition) 1-3/4" x 7/8" oval. The top layer is my Cherry Cobbler inked sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on a Word Window punch in Very Vanilla with two Vintage Trinket brads.

I hope you are inspired to play along with us at Pals Paper Arts. Please leave your comments on my entry--I love reading all of them.
