Pals Paper Arts #2--Play Along!

I hope you will play along with Pals Paper Arts and use our first sketch to fashion your own card. I am thinking ahead to cooler climes and fun times! Halloween is special at our home because our 4th child came on that day 20 years ago! His birthday is always extra special and once when he was a pre-schooler, as we were driving around town, he said, "Hey! Everyone's getting ready for my birthday!"
I began with an Elegant Eggplant card base and added a scored Only Orange piece to top off my Basic Black large zig-zag edge. To accomplish this edge, I used a tool from Creative Memories called a Border Line. It's made of see-through plastic and is ruled on one side and a zig-zag on the other. I simply traced the edge, placing it where I wanted it to be across the pre-cut cardstock, traced it with pencil and snipped out the triangles.
I colored in my image from Yippee Kiyay Holiday set using my Stampin' Write markers and my blender pen with ink pad puddles. Isn't she cute?
I tied on some black grossgrain and black gingham ribbons by Stampin' Up and voila! I also used my Photo Corner Punch to add a little depth in the upper left corner.

I invite you to play along with the Pals Paper Arts! It's fun and easy and you will see lots of examples to inspire your next creations when you visit our blog. I love to Play at PPA!!

This is so cute! I wish I could just go back and teach Sept/Oct/Nov - my favorite time of the year with the best colors and best holidays! Then I'd go back to my retired state!

I love your interpretation of the sketch, Patti! I too love Halloween and I love so many things about your card! I love your little witch, the colors you used, but most of all, I love your zig-zag border on the Basic Black layer! Too cute!

I love your new blog look! It is clean and classy! It makes me wish that I lived near a beach...a nice beach...not a sandbar in the Mississippi River! Your card made me smile, especially the story that went with it! Just an awesome interpretation of the sketch! The border is striking!
